Medina's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Aiken County

When I came in earlier today I came in with my family. I was with both my parents and my brother. We were meeting up with a larger group who had already arrived before us. It wasn’t busy when we arrived and there was only one other family when we arrived.

Despite walking in with my parents me and my sibling had to sit at a booth separate but close too the rest of the party. For reference the main table was against the wall near the back. There was a booth to the left to the table with members of our party. And my booth was directly behind theirs. Our server was also the same as theirs, and she was serving everyone in our party. Her name was Jocelyn. She was made aware we were part of the party as soon as possible.

My problem with her service started immediately after we were sat. She brought my parents menus, however did not bring any for my table. She did however end up getting our drink orders with the group and I assumed she would bring a menu after bringing me the drink. She didn’t have a menu however and walked away very quickly before I could ask for one.

The next time she came back she took the orders of everyone at the main group, then came over to my table and asked if we were ready to order. I explained she never brought us a menu and she gave us some of the menu’s she took from the party. After handing them to us she just stood their staring waiting for the order. I asked if we could have some time to look it over as this was out first time there. She said yes and just kept standing there. So I asked her if she could come back in a little bit.

After looking it over we did find what we wanted and waited for her to come back. After waiting around 10 minutes we started looking for her and I saw she not only didn’t come back to us, she had seated and started taking an order for another table. So I waited a while longer trying to be patient before going and asking for her. At the time she was just standing behind the counter seemingly doing nothing. Only then did she take my order. She had taken so long to get back to us that after finishing my order she left and returned within five minutes with all the meals for everyone else in the party except my table.When I did order I ordered the Steak Mexicano. I asked her if it was okay to make an adjustment to the order. Which she said was okay. I asked her to take off the tomatoes, and add mushrooms and cheese on the steak. She repeated it back to me to make sure she understood and I confirmed it was correct. You can imagine my disappointment when it shows up way later with no mushrooms or cheese on it. Surprisingly she had taken off again so I couldn’t mention it too her.

She had made it a habit throughout the night of leaving so fast I couldn’t speak to her about anything. Despite not being busy and having another server taking half the tables.

I decided just to eat it because I had already waited much longer than someone normally does for a meal and did not want to wait longer just for her to show up again. Let alone the time to correct the meal.

The meal was okay but I simply didn’t enjoy it the way I would have had it been made correctly.

Sometime after I finished everyone at the party had been done for a while and she came and cleared everything away for them. She managed to get most of it and came back immediately for the rest of it. I was very upset when she didn’t clear any dishes off my table.

Everyone in the main party was still talking since this was an annual thing we do, just usually at a different restaurant. So I waited talking to my brother. Our waiter finally returned over 15 minutes later and instead of clearing our entire table like she did for the entire party. She only took my plate and left everything else. After that she never came back to our table and I was never brought a check, unlike everyone else in the party.

I was ignored the whole night, my order was wrong, and the waiter didn’t stay long enough for me to let her know what was wrong. I will not be coming back again and if anyone asks I will not...

What an atrocious experience and staff. We had been twice before and had decent service but this time was unbelievable. I definitely understand and appreciate we're in a Mexican restaurant and Spanish is their spoken language but to not be able to communicate with your customers as well as having to come back 3x about what we ordered, then it still comes out wrong. I had to get up to ask for water 2x and then finally the bill comes. I always ask for lime instead of lemon for my water. I had 2 waters. They charged my $2.00 for lime! I was shocked. The owner rushed over to me when I questioned the young women, as nowhere does it state there's a charge in the menu nor did she inform me nor was I ever charged for limes in any restaurant, ever. Then it went from bad to WORSE. The owner was so incredibly rude, told me of course we do and turned her back on me. I said excuse me, could you please explain why it's not stated nor was it told to me and $2.00, that excessive. She then spins around and with a smug look said, I don't care and if you have a problem, it's what I charge. I never raised my voice, was rude or aggressive. I was shocked at how aggressive she was with me. This owner is the most incompetent, inconsiderate and uncaring owner. I said I won't be back, she shrugged her shoulders and her twisted face smug smile was my last straw and she pointed to the door.

How could you treat customers SO rudely and having just barley edible,...

Service is absolutely terrible. You can be a small locally owned restaurant and still provide good service. Waitress could not understand our order because she didn't speak good English. That's totally fine, but then she got an attitude because she had to call another waitress over to take order because she couldn't understand. Why are you out in the dining room taking orders if you don't speak good English? That's my question. The lady who did take our order seemed very annoyed that I had a couple of special requests.....nothing major.....just no tomatoes, add mushrooms (which I actually paid extra for the mushrooms, so what's the problem)??!! Also no pico or guacamole on my salad. No big deal but she was annoyed. Then she brings my food but didn't bring sour cream which was supposed to come with my salad. She started walking off before I could even tell her so I had to yell it to her as she was walking off (not being rude but just to get her attention so she'd hear me). Then I was never checked on again. No drink refills. No check. I had to get the attention of a nice young boy who had just come in for his shift, and he brought me my check. I felt like I was being punished for being "a difficult customer". I will never again go there nor would I ever...
