REALLY hit and miss... I have had some great food from here and some not-so-great. The spicy beef egg rolls, spicy beef soup, shrimp with ginger sauce: all good. (You really can't go wrong with anything they put in that ginger sauce.) The curry beef or chicken with potatoes? Easily the best thing I've ever tasted. Tender, flavorful, spicy, and the potatoes in it are just moist, buttery deliciousness. Worth it JUST for those dishes. BUT... The fried rice is very flavorless and mushy. I've never had it taste any better from here. The Cantonese chicken and General Tso's chicken? Stringy and dry, like it was old chicken, and not at all spicy (and I asked for EXTRA hot.) The dumplings are just terrible, the dough is WAY too thick and the filling is just dry and tasteless- and I've had them both fried AND steamed. Mind you, most places in akron use the same (obviously bought in) thick-doughed, probably-frozen dumpling, but these were terrible even by those standards. I've heard they have hand made mustard and duck sauce but I've never once had it- maybe because I always get it to go, but the only stuff I've ever had from them was prepackaged. Pork and vegetable eggrolls both taste average, nothing special. Crab and cheese wontons are 99% cream cheese, and the little tiny piece of crab you might find in one has no flavor whatsoever. Like I said, it's complete hit and miss with Chin's, but if you're feeling like trying your odds, this is the place. But definitely go for the beef or chicken potato curry. It's the only reason I gave this place three stars instead of a...

When I first walked in the woman with the mole on her face was super rude to me and assumed I had a pick up order. I almost walked out and didn't even order because of the way she was talking to me.
I placed my order and was up charged 3.85 for noodles instead of rice. Very expensive for noodles and first time I've ever been up charged for noodles instead of rice.
The orange chicken was the color of general Tso's chicken (almost black) It doesnt even taste like orange at all. The chicken is overly salty and upset my stomach. The chicken tastes like a beef ramen flavoring packet. I was given only 1 little piece of brocolli and no cabbage, no onion, and no carrot.
For a Chinese food restaurant Chin's Place left me disappointed. I would say Chin's Place missed the mark, but it didn't even come close to being authentic Chinese cuisine. I've eaten more authentic store bought microwaved cooked Chinese food. Solid 0 out of 10.
For all the people that rated this place so high, you all have never eaten good authentic Chinese food. Especially if you think this place is good. I would be laughing if I didnt just...
Read moreFirst time trying chins, our usual place for Chinese is closed temporarily. So I called and placed a carry out order. First of all the woman on the phone was extremely rude, she had a tone and kept making comments, because I was having trouble understanding her and also I tried to order donuts when they didn’t have any. Could it be frustrating? Sure, but I was polite and apologetic, and it was uncalled for. Besides the phone call making me uncomfortable, I was looking past it and chalked it up to her having a bad day. Sorry, lady! The food, however, was decent (I’m biased and prefer my usual place) except the shrimp chow mein. I found some pieces of paper or something similar with blue print on them rolled up and slimy IN THE FOOD. I’m kicking myself now for not taking a photo but I just wanted to eat so I moved on. The wonton soup was really good, and I enjoyed the dumplings. Definitely room for improvement and I wish I would’ve had the customer service mentioned in other reviews...
