El Vecino Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Alabama

It could do for some major cleaning, bathrooms are not in good clean condition tiny stalls and I'm NOT a big person, Floors look half clean in lobby, the booths were half cleaned, About the drinks...very poor, the menu has no automatic Mexican ingredients, I was told it was due to the fact that when customers come to the restaurant to order they delete so many items out of the recipes that they just decided to change the entire menu and so even the waitress said it's very Americanized it's like eating at Taco Bell if she can say that then you know I'm not making this up I feel that when customers do that they still can accommodate them but keep the menu authentic because you still have other nationalities that come there looking for what the name of the restaurant is and so when you look over the menu you just don't find the true Mexican ingredients like I kept asking for certain things and she was like we don't carry it anymore so this isn't a shipment issue this is basically an upscale Taco Bell that needs work I will never eat there again. However if I had to rate the place based on my waitress it would get six stars possibly 10 she was wonderful at least she tried there was nothing she could do about what my complaint is so if you're looking for authentic Mexican food this is not the place to go I'm sure other Spanish descent are quite dismayed when they go here some of them probably just come just for the loyalty what I did order when it came it was hot it was decent but of course because I already had my mouth set on true authentic Mexican food I wasn't satisfied satisfied I actually took a carry out and threw it away later did not keep it for later eating one of the reasons was a few hours later when I got home and took the container out of the car the food smells like it's spoiled and it's not even hot outside so I definitely wasn't going to eat that it shouldn't smell spoil that fast later that evening my stomach was tore up so lot of bathroom visits won't be eating...

Came with a party of 4 today after work. We immediately ordered a large cheese dip and four margaritas. We were brought a basket of chips and some salsa, along with our orders. The drinks weren’t great, but weren’t terrible either; just standard run-of-the-mill. We requested a second basket of chips to go with our large cheese dip and our waitress hesitated, but ultimately went to get one. Time passed and we were ready to order another round of drinks, so we flagged down our waitress (who hadn’t been back to check on us at all). We requested a basket of chips to finish our cheese dip (we still had almost half a bowl left) and some drinks. She told us we were only allowed to have one basket of chips. I was confused, because I spent $8 ordering cheese dip and $25 ordering margaritas. She shrugged and said it was the rule and we would have to pay for more. The issue with that, for me, is that I had racked up a tab over $30 and couldn’t even eat my cheese dip because I didn’t have anything to eat it with. That “being the rule” makes no sense to a paying table who is continuing to order drinks/appetizers. Very confused and frustrated and definitely not planning to make that our new after-work drinking spot. Not great for hanging out or bringing groups, or for just racking up a bar tab! If I could give them less I would. I read the other reviews and these people must be pumping up these reviews because all of them are lie. The food is absolutely Horrible. I was trying to do something different with my children so I decided that I would take them to this restaurant. It was nice walking in and had a nice appearance. But the food was inedible, we ended up leaving everything on the table. I talked to the manager and agreed to pay half of the bill only because it was my daughter's birthday and I had to take her somewhere where she could at least eat and enjoy it. I ended up taking them to Chick-fil-A. Please do not waste your money here the food is so Gross. Everytime I think about the food at this restaurant I get sick on my stomach.
