Taco Casa — Restaurant in Alabama

I lovvvvvveeee taco casa! I have been eating here for about 20 years lol!!! You ain't from tuscaloosa if ya don't like taco casa! Taco casa is a million times better than Taco Bell and their fake meat!! I actually don't even eat Taco Bell anymore honestly! But back to taco casa, we actually eat here like 3-4xs a week! It can get expensive at times because I am a family of 5! But I have eaten pretty much everything on the menu at some point from the tacos, messy nachos, enchiladas,sanchos, beefy nachos, childas, taco burgers chili burritos and chimanupla (taco salad) ! But honestly I rarely eat the tacos anymore not because they aren't good but I just love other things more now lol ! But today i ate here and latey stuck on the taco salads which are about 6 bucks and are normally good but sometimes the shell can be a little burned and they are often WAY WAY TOO HEAVY HAND WITH THE LETTUCE and not as heavy with the 2 scoops of meat but it will fill ya up! Just ask for lite lettuce and extra meat but it will set ya back about 7$ lol but it's worth it and I ALWAYS ADD THIER MILD SAUCE !!! Or add the taco HOT SAUCE OR XHOT! Even tho it comes with picante sauce but to add taco casa extra sauce gives it a kick! I may just treat myself again tomorrow to taco casa again lol I know I will by Sunday lol but it's a simple place the menu hasn't changed much in the last 20 years and they do have a few combos you can get but i may have ordered those like 3xs but they DO NOT have specials or EVEN A KIDS MENU which is a con it's just what you see is what ya get but i suggest the chill burrito hot and messy nachos or beefy nachos! be prepare to spend a few dollars more if you are thinking it's like nasty Taco Bell and GET the SWEET TEA!!! I have ALWAYS loved Taco Casa but I just had a horrible experience at the store on hwy 69 south in Tuscaloosa. I ordered 2 hard shell tacos and a small drink. Well put so much ice that there was only like 5 sips of drink in the cup. There was more drink on the lid than there was in the cup and of course the drink that was on the lid spilled all over me. Then when I get to the tacos one taco wasn’t even 1/3 of the way full with meat, only had about 1 1/2 bites worth of meat in it. Also this same taco they wrapped it in such a way that most of the meat and cheese just spilled out all over me as well. When I called to complain all the female employee I was talking to had to say was they had already closed everything down so I could come back tomorrow or the next day. I said come back for what, she said to remake my order or whatever. The employee then asked for my name, I gave it to her and she proceeded to talk to someone in the background saying to them “it’s a customer complaint “ but in a joking manner and she asked my name again and I gave it to her again then she said I got it and hung up on me! I will Not be going back to that taco casa except to try and get a refund tomorrow and to complain to the manager and to corporate! I did finally speak to the General Manager of that location whom was very nice and apologetic! She gave me a refund! I also received a response from their corporate office who also apologized and are supposed to be sending me a gift card as well so their managers and corporate office are doing their best to fix the issue and I will still definitely be eating at a different Taco Casa every...

Never want to complain about "the casa" I love it the food is always good... this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks I've been to the 69s location, the service and cleanliness has been sub-par. I wish owners would shop their locations.... I ordered food which was great hard to mess that up, but the service is, well the service is a little different seeing I usually go to the watermelon road location.. tonight I'm there and come to the window this lady opens the window and sticks her hand out.... I give her my card, then she comes back and says "you had a Mountain Dew?" I say no?.. she shuts the window... then comes back and gives me a bag of food.. shuts the window.. not once did she greet me or repeat my order which is cool but then I looked you got 12 people that I can see working and lady at the window is just swiping cards without checking.. I was really taken back as this is the second time this has happened at this location, the first time I had to turn back and rush to get to them before they closed because they did the same thing and forgot 3 burritos I ordered no big deal we all are imperfect but this is a training issue and I understand hiring all your friends as a manager and their kids but come on man.. train the spokes person for you in the drive thru.. and geez the floors.. I know the powers to be would be mortified at the service and these floors.. maybe it's demographics or something but wow... 🤦‍♂️ I expect more life...
