Waffle House — Restaurant in Tuscaloosa

I ate here today and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. It was warm outside but a very cold day inside, with temperatures plunging to a frigid -30°F, but the service was even colder.

Despite the restaurant not being busy my wait for food stretched an astonishing 40 minutes. With three cooks and three waitstaff on shift, I expected a much quicker turnaround. It felt as if the staff was perhaps not fully present 🚬as the service was painfully slow and uncoordinated.

When my coffee arrived, I was disappointed to find it watered down. To make matters worse, my Coke was mistakenly switched with Diet Coke not once, but twice. This happened even after the staff figured out it was hooked up incorrectly and they fixed it. If you cannot have sugar beware because the regular coke was hooked to diet…. ☠️

The food itself was equally disappointing. The cheese on my dish was more akin to a liquid than the typical waffle house magic gold. As for the waffle, it was a mini version that left me underwhelmed and still hungry.

To put it into perspective, I recently dined in North Carolina during a hurricane where just two workers managed to serve at least 100 customers in the same timeframe. Here, with a full staff and only two tables, I was shocked by the lack...

I literally just left this restaurant with my family and we will never go back this is why, when we walk the in the tables and floor were covered in trash meanwhile there were 2 children ages 7 to 10 sweeping the floors and wiping down the tables They want really cleaning much they were just kind of moving the messes around. As soon as we sat down our waitress instantly walked up to the table and said are you ready to order , as she brought our drinks to us two of them spilt on the table And we were responsible for cleaning those up. As our food was prepared the children brought us our food after they took it to the wrong table we noticed thumb prints in some of the food on the plates. Are waitress never one time came over to ask if we had everything or if the food was OK eventually the cook walked out and ask if everything was OK. The smell of this restaurant was horrendous to the point that it made my son sick so neither my wife or my son ate a single bite...

First lemme say..... I'm just sitting here waiting on my food but I just wanted to take the time FIRST to say that WILLIE REALLY LOVES HIS JOB! And it shows!!!!! Waffle House you REALLY need to hang on to this guy because it won't be long until he will go on to better things. I was very impressed with how he approached our table and smiled and took our order etc just a wonderful guy and you don't get that type of customer service anywhere nowadays. This is someone that I would love to employ in my own business if I have room for him. He needs an upper management job with multiple skill sets because he has talent and the willingness to be a great host. Don't lose him..... PROMOTE HIM WHEN APPRECIATE.
