This is by far the worst Chinese food I have ever tried to eat. I ordered Chicken and Shrimp fried rice, House fried rice, wonton soup and fried pork dumplings for takeout.

I waited 15 minutes before leaving my house, and I live 10 minutes away, so I figured the food would be ready upon my arrival. Wrong. I was greeted rudely, and told to sit because my food was not ready. I waited in this unfriendly, unkempt environment for at least 15 more minutes to finally have some person from the kitchen come out and dump the food on the table, with no explanation, like "here's your food" or anything.

But, I held out hope because the food seemed hot. When I got home and opened the bags, my wife and I were hit with the unmistakable smell of scorched food. The rice had a propane taste, like the wok or pan was heated to the melting point and frozen rice added to it, instantly scorching and catching fire. It was inedible. We had to throw away both orders of rice, but not before noticing the chicken in the fried rice was rubbery and a green color. The vegetables were soggy and sour and pale. It was beyond disgusting, and like I said, the worst Chinese food I ever saw.

The wonton soup was tasteless and inedible. The wontons looked like they'd soaked in water for weeks. The fried pork dumplings had the same scorched, rancid spent oil taste that the rice had. The pork filling was bland and mushy. The exterior of the dumplings were burnt in some areas and undercooked in others. Clearly, an amateur attempted to cook these and failed.

To add insult to the terrible food, it was expensive. This $25 mean was double that price, and definitely not worth it.

Some reviews mention the owner, and I saw him sitting at a table with his arms crossed and an angry look on his face. What a warm greeting. The employees were squabbling the entire time in mix of English and Spanish about the virtues of using pure bleach spray to clean the tables. Stay away from this health code violation waiting to happen!

Overall, I will not ever be going back to this place. I seriously doubt they will stay in business, and I question their...

Ordered takeout from this place since our regular Chinese place was closed. Got a basic meal of sweet and sour chicken and fried rice because it’s hard to mess that up. We thought we had been going to the best place for years. We were wrong.

As soon as I walked in, I saw the place was packed. A good sign. Nestled between an Asian supermarket and a Bravo, this little restaurant sits with lots of tables and bright lights. I was greeted by the sweetest man who led me to a table that sat our food, bagged up and ready to go. He advised me to call and order directly as the 3rd party app their site uses charges more. Then he told me to wait so they could bring us something free. After a minute, a lady came out with a little container of bread rolls. I thanked them and left.

At home, the first thing I ate was a roll. It was huge and so soft. It tasted homemade? Then I opened up my sweet and sour chicken. It looked different than what I normally get. Had onions and peppers placed in as they packaged it and was a little lighter colored. I opened the sauce, a little runnier than what I’m used to. I tasted it and holy cow. It wasn’t the sugary sweet syrup most places give you. This was the real deal.

The chicken was fresh and looked like cut up pieces, fried by hand. It had hints of bell pepper and onion from being packaged with the veggies. I could’ve drank the sauce. The pork fried rice was loaded with veggies and bean sprouts and it didn’t taste like salty indistinguishable food. You could taste everything in it. My wife couldn’t get over how good her sesame chicken was. We had seconds.

This is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life. I’m telling everyone I know that if they don’t go to this place, they’re missing out on some of the most delicious food they will ever consume. This place is truly a gem and we will definitely be coming back to try...

Caution health hazard!!!! They claim they can cook for personnel with shrimp allergy but came out with shrimp all over it. They picked the shrimp out and bring the same dish back out.

Here is what happen: Asked if we can get fried rice with no shrimp. They said yes. I Explained my wife is allergic to shrimp so can't even be cooked with shrimp they said OK no problem. Dish came out with shrimp. I reminded the waitress she can't eat shrimp. Oh sorry I'll get it fixed. She takes it away and comes right back way to fast with a dish that didn't have shrimp on top. But I could smell the fishy smell so I looked at what my wife put on her plate. It had a piece of shrimp. I got up right away and asked to pay my bill in full. They asked is there a problem? I said yes I made it clear she's allergic to shrimp. They said there's no shrimp. I asked ok what is this? They said it's pork. Sorry that's not pork it's shrimp and she can't eat food that's even had shrimp in it she's allergic. They said you want us to remake. I said no I paid you in full but I'm not risking my wife's health because you don't or won't follow one simple request. If you couldn't cook with out shrimp and you told me we could have picked something else...

The pineapple bun is a must have! $3.25 for 3 is a bargain! I've had pineapple buns in San Francisco, Hong Kong, Los Angeles... But this restaurant may have some of the best I've ever had in the world! The bread to crust to filling ratio is like.. 1:1:1. Traditional pineapple buns normally have a ratio that is a like.. a LOT of bread, some crust, and just a teensy bit of filling. The pineapple bun at this restaurant is very generous in terms of its proportion of crust and filling. It's bordering on "too sweet", but because the size of the bun is also smaller than usual - it's okay. It's about the size of a small taco, instead of a large size like most normal bakeries. I don't mind the smaller size because the quality is so good. It leaves me have room for other things. I think the pineapple bun is definitely very unique. I was lucky to have it when it was still hot and fresh out of the oven in the morning. I did not have much of the other dim sum dishes because I am a vegetarian. I had porridge and some egg tart which was not bad. But the pineapple bun was certainly a standout treat!

How have I never eaten here before?! I've been missing out and if you haven't either, you are too! Let me start by saying I'm very particular when it comes to food and they did NOT disappoint. I called to place my order because I wanted to inquire if their chicken dishes were prepared with white meat. I don't like dark meat and I won't eat chicken thighs no matter how they're prepared. Some restaurants will tell you that they serve white me when they don't and I cannot be fooled. I asked about the Sweet and Sour Chicken, the General Tso's Chicken and the Sesame Chicken. I was told that they are all made with white meat and fresh ingredients. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken and my boyfriend had the Sesame Chicken. I can indeed confirm that both dishes were made with all white meat. We also ordered Chicken Fried Rice (which was white meat too), Shrimp Lo Mein and Egg Rolls. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! On top of that the portions are HUGE! Two or Three people can share ONE dish easily. We had SO much leftover. I will definitely be dining here again... and again!

I loved this restaurant for years, I was a regular customer for me and my family, but since like a month ago the quality of food went down from 10 to 1, I feel very bad this was a restaurant I considered a little gem in my neighborhood. About three weeks ago, my husband got pork fried rice, it was so bad that I called the owner to give feedback, he was very nice and offered me “something” to make up for my bad experience. Because the food was not close to the delicious one I knew since I discovered the restaurant. I did not claim anything, my husband went back and because I still was skeptical, I decided to order chicken with broccoli and sweet and sour chicken. Well I feel that my husband wasted the money he spent, the broccoli was mushy-brown from being overcooked, the sweet and sour chicken was tasteless, I wouldn’t know the difference if I ate a piece of paper with it, I wouldn’t have distinguished which one was it. I will be in the hunt for a new place, I will miss the nice people there but we decided not to go to HONG KONG ALLEY KITCHEN again.
