Junk food satisfies you for a minute. Healthy food satisfies you for life. đđđ„đ„đ„đ«đ„„
Purple Ocean Superfood Bar is serving up some tasty options for the vegan, raw, organic, and clean-eating enthusiasts in Orlando. They offer decadent Acai and Dragon fruit bowls, juicy burgers, mouth-watering loaded fries, creamy smoothies, and refreshing fresh-squeezed lemonades. Everything is vegan, except for one ingredient: Nutella. Even if youâre not into a specific health craze, youâll still find something on their menu to wholesomely satisfy your body and your taste buds. đ°
Our absolute favorite item was the flavor-packed Chatarra Fries (crispy fries smothered in cheddar cheese, topped with impossible meat crumbles, cilantro, and signature sauces). Their homemade sauces (rosada, guava, and cilatro aioli) brought the dish together so harmoniously that we didnât even miss the meat. This was a memorable dish, and we were craving it for days⊠yum. đđ§
We were pleasantly surprised by the Selva Burger (brioche bun, Impossible burger, American Cheese, arugula, tomato, sauteed onions, avocado, and signature cilantro aioli). It was juicy and flavorful, and weâd order it again. đđ„đ đ§
We also got their most inviting and colorful Açai bowl: The Survivor bowl. It was topped with granola, coconut oil, bananas, strawberries, pineapples, mangos, kiwis, blueberries, chia seeds, coconut flakes, and agave. Our favorite bites were the ones that included a slice of banana. Since we were new to this Brazilian berry, we were unaware that it was more bitter than sweet, so the banana seemed to complement it well. They have several toppings, so if you play around with the flavors, youâll eventually create your perfect bowl. đđ«đ„đ
Their fresh-squeezed lemonades are a must. They make them to order, and they are delicious. Theyâre served in a mason jar, and if you bring the jar back on your next visit, they take fifty cents off your next lemonade. Itâs not much, but itâs a cute thing they do for their returning customers. đđ
If you have yet to check out Purple Ocean Bar, add it to your list, even if youâre not vegan. Weâre sure that youâll be as pleasantly surprised as we were. And if youâre already a frequent customer at one of their food truck locations, check out their brick-and-mortar in Waterford Lakes. They have a relaxing beach vibe, and the customer service is warm and welcoming.

Read moreGenerally a good place, staff is friendly and the Acai smoothie is my go to here but there's 2 reasons why I left my rating
Whenever they make the Acai smoothie they pack so much into the blender that sometimes they have a hard time closing it which looks great. However when they pour it they put it into a red solo sized cup and pour the rest down the drain, which is a huge waste given that it looks like a whole 1/3rd of what's blended is thrown away. Whatever the exact amount is it's a significant amount, I asked for them to pour the extra into an extra cup a couple of times and was told that it's against policy.
Today I had a guy make this smoothie and it was so packed he needed to use a surface to help him close it. The problem was that he choose to use the bottom of the deep sink they use to clean dishes, so basically the smoothie ingredients were exposed to whatever dirty dishes, soap and utensils were down there while he was opening and closing it trying to get the right angle.
I asked the manager for a refund but she offered to remake my smoothie which was nice. However when she got behind the counter and was interacting with her coworkers I could very clearly see that she was really annoyed so I just paused her and asked for a refund instead. She denied that she was annoyed and said that she was happy to make it again. I know what I saw as I was standing 3 feet away at most, although they were both very polite as soon as I saw that I was being an inconvenience I thought It would be better to...

If youâre on the lookout for healthy vegan restaurants in Orlando or a tropical escape for clean eats, Purple Ocean Superfood Bar in Waterford Lakes should absolutely be on your radar. I stopped by on my last day in Orlando, and Iâm so glad I didâit was the perfect way to end my trip on a high (and nourishing) note.
This Puerto Rican-inspired vegan café has a relaxed, island-style vibe that immediately puts you at ease. The Waterford location is bright, inviting, and full of tropical charm, making it an ideal stop for health-conscious travelers or locals seeking plant-based options near Waterford Lakes Town Center.
Iâm mindful of what I eat and try to avoid processed meat substitutes, so I went with one of their signature açaĂ bowls and an order of yucca friesâboth were solid choices. The bowl was fully loaded, fresh, and satisfying, though on the sweeter side, so I saved it for dessert. The cilantro dipping sauce that came with the fries? Absolutely deliciousâcreamy, flavorful, and the perfect compliment to the crispy yucca.
A lovely touch: the manager came by and offered a sample of their traditional Puerto Rican coffee with a dash of cinnamon, which was smooth and aromaticâdefinitely a standout if youâre into unique coffee...
