I came back to Alameda after 18 years and was surprised to see this shop still here. I came everyday before school for sunflower seeds and donuts. I am 35 and back then, I was 14-17. They weren’t super duper friendly growing up and well that has not changed. At least they’re consistent. They were not mean or rude but it wasn’t a hi how are you with a smile. I wasn’t getting warm service. Just basic. I felt like I needed to hurry and order. The 5 star is for longevity. I did get a donut that I brought back to Virginia to my husband and he seemed to enjoy it. I’m happy they’re still there and hope they continue!!

I've driven past this place so many times, and I decided to try it out today and my only regret is that I didn't come here sooner! The owner was so nice and there was a good selection of donuts and the biggest croissants I've ever seen in a donut shop, they looked so good, I will definitely get them for breakfast next time. Pricing was great and fair, and the donuts are SO DELICIOUS!! I got the chocolate glaze with sprinkles/cake toppings, mini apple fritter, donut holes and chocolate buttermilk bar (which is now my favorite!!). 10/10, and they serve lunch, so I will also come back for...

I have been going to Hometown Donuts forever. I use to sit down in one of the booths and enjoy a cup of coffee and a donut or two. Since the pandemic, you cannot sit in the booths. Henry is the owner and both his variety and quality is hard to beat. Check Hometowns hours as I don’t think they are opened on Sundays. The internet needs to be...
