Our trip to Humble Sea Brewing Company was a mix of good and not-so-great moments. The brewery has a bunch of interesting craft beers to choose from, but we hit a bump with the service.
We started off by using their QR code to check out the beer menu, and we were pretty excited for our first sips. But, after waiting for 10-15 minutes, our beers were still MIA. Turns out, our order got overlooked, and it happened twice. We think the staff could be a bit more on the ball with orders.
Now, onto the beers. "Socks & Sandals" was a standout with its fruity and vibrant vibeāsmelled like oranges and tasted like a tropical mix of pineapple, grapefruit, and lemon lime. "Alameda Island Vacation" had this unique double decocted TmavĆ© Pivo thing going on, and "Starfish Swish" was crisp and refreshing with hints of jasmine, lemon zest, and chamomile.
Despite the service blip, Humble Sea Brewing Company has some cool and bold beer flavors. If they tighten up their service game, they could really shine in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAmazing beer selection but itās the people that make a place and Iām afraid the bar staff really bring this place down a few stars and I personally wonāt be going back until that changes.
Especially compared to its closest brewery neighbors in Almanac & The Rake, which are always a joy to visit because of their āhumbleā staff!
Where on earth does the rule come from that one canāt have a splash of beer when the ABV is over 7%? Iām sorry but thatās unacceptable when paying over $20 for a 4-pack of beer, unless I am mistaken.
Compare this to Fieldwork's, Berkeley taproom for example who gave me a 5oz taster pour just the other day after which time I thought theyād made a mistakeā¦
Sorry Humble Sea, Love your beer but this particular tap room is lacking sorely in any of the humble, I'm afraid, not to mention that the lighting in this particular tap room makes one feel like they're in a medical...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is pretty nice and is located in a good location surrounded by other breweries. Today was my first time ever coming here and will never come back. Lady at the front Roz (IYKYK) black glasses was not nice at all. Asked her about the the michelada beer since it sounded interesting and her answer was "it's a Mexican beer it's doesn't come with the umbrella or other stuff" (in a very annoyed tone of voice). To me customer service is the first impression that makes it or break it and she totally broke it. You can tell she was annoyed and was just not happy to be there. Definitely not recommending this place and from what I can tell on the reviews I'm not the only one mentioning customer service needs to change. The seltzer was...
