Although my boyfriend and I absolutely love the sushi here (especially the happy hour special), we were very dissatisfied with today's events. We arrived around 6:40pm and asked the hostess about the happy hour menu, and if our friends would still be able to order if they got there 5 minutes late. The hostess was sweet and informed us that because they would not arrive before 7 like us, they'd be unable to order from the happy hour menu. She did tell us we could order for them without issues. We thanked her, and she asked us to wait until they were able to clear up a table for us. We received our friends order and after waiting about 15 minutes for one table to be cleaned we were finally able to sit at 6:59 (yes, i checked because I had a bad feeling about the time they made us wait). We ordered our drinks and appetizers, and once our server came back, we pointed at the happy hour special, and he said, "Happy hour is over." We explained we were here since 6:40, and the hostess said we could order from there but that it took them over 15 minutes to clear up the table and have us seated. He said he'd go talk to his manager, which he did, he went back to his machine where he inputs the orders to look at the time and comes back to us to tell us his manager said we had to be sitting by 7:00, it was now 7:03. We're not the argumentative types, so we let it go, but it's frustrating how everything worked out. They didn't respect the time we got there nor what the hostess said. We also went to celebrate my birthday here on the 20th, and they had us waiting at the door for over 10 minutes without acknowledging us. We felt really awkward, and we're about to walk out, but we kept waiting and waiting even though so many workers kept making eye contact with us. Please work on your communication skills. If someone says yes, you should respect that and not have someone tell us no. Acknowledge your guest and tell them to sit while they wait. If you have us wait for a table to be cleaned up for so long, the least you could do is respect the time we got there. We're sad at the fact that our friends had such a bad first experience. Unfortunately, because of this, we won't be back, nor would we recommend this beautiful place to anyone else. Lastly , although you do state that there will be an 18% gratitude on parties of 5 or more on your menu, it'd be nice to be reminded. Yes, that's on us, but after a bad experience, it would have been something nice to...
Read moreQuite disappointed with this take-out experience. I had attempted to order over the phone for pick-up to avoid third-party app fees and the phone line would not connect. I found this to be unprofessional as a restaurant business as they should always have an open phone line available, especially in case of emergencies.
Angled parking is available along the front entrance. There were a number of vehicles present indicating that the restaurant may be busy, however upon entry there were very few occupied tables. This was a red flag, however, I was still interested in trying the food as there aren't many sushi options in the area. There is a host that greets you at the front and an open concept layout. There is a sushi bar in the center where you can watch the chefs preparing sushi.
I ordered 4 rolls for my partner and I, which totaled around $43. I was happy to see they had a vegetarian section, albeit there were only 4 options. I got a Green Green roll, which was asparagus, avocado, and cucumber, topped with seaweed salad as well as an avocado roll. It would have been nice to see more basic rolls available, such as a vegetable roll or sweet potato roll. I did ask if individual rolls could be created such as those and the host had declined. I did ask for spicy mayo on the side and they did provide that to me with no charge.
My food was handed to me in a plastic bag and was in a plastic container. They provided soy sauce, chopsticks and utensils in the bag.
I could barely eat my rolls as every time I used the chopsticks to pick them up, they would immediately fall apart. These were not well made rolls as the rice and seaweed would not stick together and the pieces would just fall apart. This made the rolls difficult to eat and I ended up having to eat the inner pieces in portions. For the Green Green roll, I found the seaweed salad on top to be too overpowering on the actual roll. The flavor was no longer there and I could not finish that roll.
Unfortunately, this was an all around disappointment and I...
Read moreWe contacted OSAKA 2 weeks prior to my daughter's homecoming dance to set a reservation at 430p for 10 kids at a hibachi table and 10 parents at a separate table for an early dinner as the kids homecoming dance started at 6p. We all arrived at 430p and we immediately seated at both tables. It was explained to the wait staff that there would be multiple checks as the parents were going to be paying for their kids meals and our own meals at 2 separate tables. As anyone who has had a hibachi experience - the interaction with the chef and the meal prep experience should be lively - their chef, while polite - was not - which was exacerbated by the chef at the table next to them which was exactly what you would expect... a little disappointing but the kids were together and having fun with each other, so all good. When it came time to pay the bill - total chaos. The staff had not done anything to align parents to kids and even after offers to assist by standing behind our kids and letting them know what each had purchased, they took all of the orders in a long list and then had each parent take the list and point out what we each had purchased. The owner, instead of jumping in to assist, paced the restaurant and was upset with US the CUSTOMERS for the outcome...the waitstaff mentioned that to us as we all came up to pay. We are all easy going parents, always ready to jump in and assist, we are flexible and try to help in situations like this and also had just spent close to $750 for meals. The food was very good. The service was okay. The owner never once jumped in to help and complained about his customers???Very puzzling - we will not...
