Unfortunately my family and I had a horrible experience. We waited in line for over 30 min for someone to help us and take our order. Meanwhile all the drive thru orders were being taken. The individual before us placed a large food order and as soon as that order was taken the staff went from 6-7 employees to 4 all handling drive thru orders while the others went to the back. No one was all of a sudden available to take window orders. When an employee asked another employee in blue if she should take window orders, the employee in blue stated “no”. The attitude of these children including the shift manager was horrendous. One employee told me “I appreciate that you’re upset that you’re having to wait but we are busy” when I asked if they could also take window orders so it would be fair she told me “we have a system we follow and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t” to which I told her it wasn’t working right now since we had been waiting for 30 min. I was also told that there was no manager on shift then later when I asked for the employee name and the store managers name, a “shift manager” appeared out of no where. This “shift manager” is the same one wearing blue who told her employee not to take window orders. This child was yelling, had an attitude and was extremely disrespectful. When she came to the window she stated “what is it that you’re wanting?” I stated for one, for someone to place my order and two for the store managers name. She refused to provide it, she refused to give hers or her employees name and slammed the window in our face. No one was yelling, or being disrespectful to her but she apparently felt that the best way to handle an escalated issue was to cop an attitude. All we wanted was for someone to at least acknowledge us give an “I’m sorry for the wait we will be right with you” and instead these children who clearly hate their job decided justifying a 30 min wait and an attitude was the best approach. We always stop at this location in our way back to El Paso and although we are just one family that you all may not care about we are one family who will not...
Read moreLOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Everything tastes fresh and delicious. I’ve tried their Very Berry Sundae and their Strawberry Cheesecake Caliche (similar to Dairy Queen’s Blizzards) and they are addicting! They are definitely not stingy with the mixings, all the items my family and I have tried have plenty of fruit, cake bits, etc. They have a very decent menu to choose from so you are bound to find something to satisfy that sweet tooth. They even have a Green Chile Sundae! They also have seasonal flavors/items.
They also have a small selection of sandwiches and a various hot dog selections. My favorite is the chili cheese dog but my family has enjoyed all the others on the menu, good hot dogs.
They have a drive thru, plenty of parking and two picnic tables outside. The staff has always been super friendly and attentive.
Caliches has become a frequent family stop for us whenever we find ourselves in Alamo. If you’re looking for a delicious frozen treat this...
Read moreVery delicious custard desserts. I recently found the Apple Pie A La Moore and i fell in love instantly. The normal food (which mostly consists of very unhealthy but very tasty selections) really isnt too overpriced. Of course its a tad spendy, but it is worth it when you taste the hot dogs they serve. My only problem is the teenage staff. Me and my wife went there last night and got there 5 minutes before there "Hours of Operation" are over. The workers were rushing to get cleaned up so fast that they didnt even notice us. I knocked on the window and drew the attention of a young man that stared at us, i am assuming contemplating whether or not to help us at all. When he huffed and puffed his way over to us. If you run a business and have a certain time frame that you advertise to be open for business, then you should be ready to do BUSINESS at any time during those "Hours of Operation". Huffy teenage staff, good food, great...
