Asia Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Alaska

Maybe it was just a bad night in the kitchen, but I don't know. I've been driving by this place for years. One night, after working a late shift I had a hankering for Asian food. It was the only place I could find online which was open and still serving after 11:00 pm. The staff was really nice, friendly and engaging. The building is very clean and well kept; it really has a nice, welcoming atmosphere. Overall the ambiance was awesome. I overheard karaoke bar in the other room and they certainly sounded like they were having a lot of fun. The prices were decent, pretty much on par with every other Asian restaurant I've been to in town. As for the food, all that I could taste was salt. The main course, the eggrolls, the fried rice, is everything except the fortune cookie just tasted like salt. It went beyond the food was good, but a little too salty; all I tasted was salt. I always keep leftovers for lunch the next day, except in this case, I just dumped it down the disposal. Even though the staff was great, even though the facility was great, even though the ambiance was spot on, I can't see beyond one star. Personally, I'd rather eat at hole-in-the-wall restaurant where the food is good but doesn't hit any other marks, rather than a really, really nice place where the...

This restaurant does not do DoorDash! Even though they are on DoorDash app and provide text & email confirmations of orders. The sad part was the DoorDash employee called me from the restaurant to explain that they don’t do DoorDash and you could hear the people screaming at her in the background. I feel very sorry for someone just doing a job. I could hear she was more scared than anything and just wanted to try and explain. I opened a customer complaint with DoorDash and they confirmed they are and have been a DoorDash customer fulfilling orders for a very long time.

I think more than anything it’s the fact they inconvenienced someone trying to earn a living, got very rude to several people and failed to own up to the mistake. I attempted to call them but they just answer and hang up.

This used to be a premier place to go for tunes and drinks, but lately it lookes like its falling apart.

In the karaoke area, there is a gaping hole above some seats that will drip water on you if conditions are right. The whole karaoke area just seems a bit run down.

If the DJ knows you, he will randomly choose music listed under your name, which is fine unless you have a common name like Dan. Then you may end up with a song you don't know... frustrating. Also, they refuse to update their music catalog. The excuse? "If I get your favorite song, you might sing it". The establishment next door has the largest collection of Music in Anchorage, so updating would make sense.

The staff are friendly though, and drinks are on point. Kinda has a Cheers environment. Would be nice to see some beers on tap. Food is ok. Asian cuisine and a few American...
