We've frequented this establishment through the years and its many incarnations, from the original Wiliwaw on. The current owners have invested much time and money upgrading the resort, and it shows!
However, there's still a long way to go insofar as it's eateries are concerned.
This was my second recent visit, and first to the bar/bistro. The facility itself is very fresh and new, and the views spectacular. All in all a beautiful setting for a meal.
The meals, themselves, were good to very good, but nothing really memorable. Fish and chips, short ribs, pulled pork and a burger were enjoyed by our party. All good, but fairly pedestrian.
Unfortunately, the service didn't match the great surroundings or even the food. I do believe every one of the wait staff we came in contact with were friendly and well-intentioned. Perhaps its lack of proper training or maybe it's that they all appeared to be quite young and are, therefore, simply lacking the experience they need, but service is the weak link here.
To start, we waited 5-10 minutes to be seated in the bistro that was only sparsely occupied. Another wait for water. A longer wait for a drink order. The bartender was our waiter, and he informed us that they had no blender in the bar - so no frozen daiquiri for the wife. When other drinks were delivered, I was informed that my beer of choice was unavailable.
So far, not so good.
Our appetizer was timely delivered, and very good. Then, our longest wait of the evening for the main courses.
Many minutes passed and our appetizer and drinks were long-gone. Our waiter eventually came to apologize and said our meals would be arriving shortly.
Yet another wait.
So, great setting, beautiful facility, decent food, but the service was not up to par. This mirrored our first experience in their fine dining eatery.
Update August 2023 Visited on a sunny day and enjoyed the deck. But, the greeting was not handled well, and the food was sub-par.
We were greeted by a young lady who spent some time chatting with a co-worker before helping us to a table on the deck. I asked if we could just go to the deck on our own, and she informed us that she had to seat us since the deck was nearly full. The deck was maybe 20% "full" at the time.
Our waitress, Elizabeth, was great.
Two of us ordered the fish and chips. The fish was panko deep-fried. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't very good - over-cooked. Two others split a French dip dish. Neither finished their half since the beef was overdone and dry.
Overall, we enjoyed the deck and view, but the food was...
Read moreWe went for a special occasion and had reservations for a window seat with a pretty view and we got a corner with a tiny corner of the table kinda touching a little part of the window so we moved the table & that worked okay and then a helicopter landed on the dock which was totally cool and pieces of the dock went flying off from the wind from the helicopter and then a little bit later a yoga class started on the dock and I’m just gonna say that was totally gross 🤮 🫣 to have to see as our view, a dozen people out doing yoga as our view when we went to have a romantic meal with a beautiful Alaska view which we paid a hefty price for so we was disappointed over that. It’s was not super clean & service wasn’t that great at all. We had little bugs & little flies crawling all around the window & the ledge by us and the floor was filthy with big pieces of food under our chairs & table. Bathrooms were nice & pretty clean with paper towels, soap & lotion but water was real cold no warm or hot that I could ever get to wash my hands. We ordered smoked gouda fries which was really good & would order again & then after our appetizer came out a few minuets later we finally got our bread that they bring to every table so that’s a little backwards because bread should of come right away not after our appetizer. We ordered 3 meals and we did a ribeye, duck a l’orange & pasta carbonara. Steak was just okay no flavor really and tough would not order again. Duck was just okay nothing special and would not order again. The pasta carbonara was real good just a little salty and would order that again. It took over an hour to get our food. We ordered two nonalcoholic drinks the Rose mojito & something with a weird name like a radio station both were okay but very small glasses for the price. Water was just on the table in a big jug and you just poured your own into little glasses & no ice so no service for that you just do your own water. Service seemed very unorganized and different for the whole place and a lot of workers just looked like they were confused and did not know what was going on or what to do except a couple of them. We also got sat by a huge group and so restaurant was so loud & noisy you could barely talk or think which is not fine dining. Please sharpen steak knives we had to use our own knife to cut our steak because the steak knife was as dull as the butter knife. We don’t plan to eat here again the atmosphere, service, food & cleanliness just didn’t fit how expensive it was. Definitely would not consider this...
Read moreWe rarely eat out as I tend to cook all our meals. But we just had to go out for our anniversary. We made a reservation at Everett’s. Our experience from being seated, served, greeted at the table by the owner was excellent. The food was very well made. Having worked in the restaurant industry from a young age I have a pretty high bar. It is a little pricey-but so is anything good. We were not disappointed with any part of our meal-at all, not even the price. You want quality-you should expect to pay for it. They seat you with your own closed carafe of ice-water. They were so sweet, generous portions. We started off with Kobe beef sliders were excellent. Im not usually a hamburger fan-but these were delightful. I think my husband could have made a meal of those! (Maybe a couple orders!) the drinks were delicious and the fruited lemonade was exceptional! We ordered soup and salad, which were good. They brought us flatbread crackers and hummus-it was very good-lemony and the crackers were crisp and a great accompaniment. The entrees were perfectly cooked. They only offer mashed potatoes as a starch but they were flavorful and needed no extra salt or pepper to improve them-perfect as is. The blackened fresh king salmon was tender and flaky with the crisp, perfectly seared seasoned crust and the Blackberry Beurre Blanc sauce was the perfect accompaniment. The vegetables (summer squash and carrots) were perfectly done-with the right amount of crisp to them. The filet was tender, seasoned very well with a mushroom bordelaise sauce that enhanced the steak but didn’t overpower it. We finished our meal with excellent desserts. Because it was our wedding anniversary they were compliments of the house. We chose the key lime pie and the chocolate bomb. Each of those was delectable and the presentation was great. All foods were plated well. The owner was personable and took a few minutes to see if we were pleased with our dining experience and was a bright spot in the night. The view was excellent looking out at the lake. The restaurant was well appointed and clean. The decor also made a pleasant atmosphere. They have several areas to eat. This place is perfect for a nice lunch, casual dinner or for a more quiet special occasion. They have a bar, outside dining snd fire pit (you can get s’mores for dessert and roast the marshmallows yourself). We will choose Everett’s again. Not just for fancy dining but casual dinners and brunches because they do...
