I did not want to leave a poor review for a local business, but after two consecutive negative experiences, I feel I have to.
First, we tried to order pizza for takeout one evening and the order got sent to House of Fire in Badger due to an error with the website application. We arrived at House of Fire West and figured it out, and I called House of Fire Badger to cancel the order. We were told that we would be able to get a refund for that order and they could make the pizza at HOF West in about 10 mins. Left and came back, still no pizza-- they hadn't started the order and then the manager came out to say he couldn't refund the other pizza. Then by the time we got our original order (paid double $$ because we were just so hungry by this point), it has been over an hour wait and we could've just gone to Badger. I can understand not wanting to refund for the cost of ingredients of a pizza already made, but I was extremely frustrated by the effect on my time and poor communication.
Next time, we called in an order to avoid issues with the website. They said it would be 40 mins. We arrived at 40 mins on the nose, and discovered they hadn't even started making our pizza. They said it would be 5 more minutes, but it took almost half an hour. And then we got home, we find out pizza is missing one of the ingredients we paid for (basil). They told us we couldn't also get pineapple on half because "they already put the full amount of each ingredient on half" when you order it that way, but I beg to differ -- the bacon on half was certainly not the full amount. And then to completely miss an ingredient which we paid full price for after that -- third strike for sure.
Needlessly to say, I'm tired of having my time and money wasted here. We'll be taking our pizza...
Read moreIt’s really hard to not like house of fire pizza. I mean, I want to hate on them, but they make it impossible! Finally, I just give into the flavors, the combinations of ingredients, the crust, the service and gosh darn it they have cannoli! You see, there are a lot of yummy pizza places in this town. It really is hard to choose a favorite. I am pretty loyal to what I like, but last weekend the place I am obsessed with would only take in person orders, not on the phone, so I couldn’t think of a good reason not to give House of Fire a chance, as they are so close to my house and for convienience alone I decided to stray from my local favorite. Gosh if they didnt make the yummiest pepperoni madness pizza and yep this week I didn’t even consider the further away pizza spot, I had to get House of Fire, this time the white pizza. Yum. Oh and canolli is this yummy Italian dessert that is so good, so so good. So beware if you think you found the ultimate Fairbanks pie somewhere else. This place has a way of winning over hearts and taste buds. I am resolved to start loving all of the yummy pizzas everywhere equally and diplomatically. Just after one or two more House of Fire...
Read moreUpdate 9.5.21, still good pizza, but you're waiting an hour or more to get it....the frustrating thing is that you're told 40 minutes until it's ready. 40 minutes later and it's still just a ticket, so they say 10 more minutes then 10 more minutes turns into another 10 minutes or more and you're waiting over an hour for your anticipated order. Quite a buzzkill. This has been my experience the last 3 times over these last 3 months. Once again, good pizza, but if you're out of town or plan on snagging a pie before heading home. I wouldn't recommend House of Fire unless you have ample time to wait in your car.
Best pizza place around. Cool, laid back atmosphere.. and with it being newer-ish, not very crowded yet, but I'm sure that will change in the future. Pizza is made right in front of you with a bunch of types of pizzas. The first time I got the smoked and spicy supreme, which was fantastic with the meats and veggies. The second time I got the roasted peppers which had a unique sauce that was delicious. This is definitely the place to go to...
