I purchased ice cream around 1 oclock from a group of young teens working the stand. Unfortunately, communication was lacking from the start. A young girl was working the tickets at the window and she kept asking her co-worker about certain things regarding the job and entered the ticket maybe 8-10 minutes later, I paid before they began opening and closing the window repeatedly, informing me bit by bit that several items were unavailable. I had ordered a banana split, but they were out of bananas and wouldn't offer an extra scoop or any kind of substitute. The sundae I received was disappointing melted ice cream with barely any of the toppings listed on the menu. For $15, I wouldn’t usually complain, but the quality and service didn’t match the price. Another order, a hot fudge sundae, had just a tiny drizzle of fudge, I would have mentioned it before I left but I was just getting frustrated how lacking the customer service this place had turning a 5 minute process into about 25 minutes wasn’t even worth asking for a refund because they probably wouldn’t! It wasn’t even busy, which surprised me since it was Father’s Day maybe others have had similar experiences and hadn’t come back or prefer Cold Stone. In years past, I’ve had decent service and properly made orders here. This time, the team of young teen girls seemed undertrained, didn’t communicate issues until after the order was served, and even rolled their eyes. I understand this may be some of their first summer jobs, so I don’t blame the teens entirely, management and the owner really need to step up with training and supervision.
Ice cream is good but not for the price they are listed at, especially with the problems that occur in the process of having your ice cream made… will NOT be coming back and I don’t think you should either. ⚠️...
Read moreFirst ice cream shop I've ever been to where you order and then wait for 35 minutes for a scoop of ice cream ! We wait in line to order and when we get to the window we find out that they only offer 5 or 6 very generic flavors so I ask for chocolate, which they proceed to tell me they ran out of. We wait off to the side and wait for them to call our number. We would only hear a number called every 5 minutes or so. Close to 40 minutes after ordering, my daughter checked on the ice cream and was handed melted ice cream and was told it was our fault because we didn't come to the window when our number was called. I stepped in and asked how they could possibly hand out melted ice cream and be rude about it. One of the girls admitted that she never told us where to stand while we waited for the order. Plus the ice cream was NOT good and it was very overpriced !! Worst experience ever !! Don't go there !!! Learn to hand out a scoop right when the customer orders like every other ice cream shop in...
Read moreVegan Review: Hot Licks almost always has 2 options for vegan ice cream! One or both is often a sorbet, but they will occasionally also have non-dairy versions of their various flavors available. My favorite that I've had lime soft serve.
They are very fast considering how popular they are. There are sometimes lines of 30 or more people, but they really know their work and get orders out fast and, as I'm sure anyone with dietary restrictions that makes special orders will want to know, I have never seen them mess up an order.
My favorite thing about Hot Licks, though, is that there seems to be very little or no waste products in an order. There are just napkins, and that's optional. I do not know if these are specifically biodegradable, but they aren't the heavy paper versions you see at fast food. They seem like a very...
