Max Burger — Restaurant in Alaska

The quality of the food was very poor. Everything tasted like it was pre packaged and previously frozen. I can’t confirm this but that is the taste, texture, and physical appearance of the food that I ordered. Even the burger patties had that frozen patty look and taste. It was rubbery. How does a place called Max’s Beefy Burgers use subpar patties. My wife got the fried oysters, and you could tell that they had gone bad because they were rotten. I can confirm they were spoiled because I have had spoiled oysters a few times and these had the same taste and rotten smell. You ever watch one of those Kitchen Nightmare or Restaurant Impossible type shows where they go into the walk in freezer and there is rotten food all over the place and everything in the kitchen is disgusting. Yeah, I bet this place is like that. Everything was saturated in old burnt grease, everything had a slight bitter charred taste. Which in my opinion is old over used grease. My wife ordered a “real fruit” milkshake and it literally had no fruit in it. Nor did it have the slightest hint of fruit in it. It was just vanilla flavored. The chicken tenders that came with my burger were these weird meat paste patty things. Kind of like fast food chicken nuggets. I was at least expecting an actual chicken tenderloin. I ordered 2 Max burgers, 1 shake, 1 Sprite, nacho cheese fries, and fried mushrooms. I confirmed my order with a lady named Sheryl and she even repeated my order. The delivery driver brings all my items but I noticed my other drink was not included and somehow I had another large fry. How Sprite sounds like large fry I will never know. I alert the driver who I gave a $5.00 tip to, who says he will bring my soda back. I call aka Sheryl back and inform her of the mistake.

She is offering me a credit and I tell her the driver is on his way to get my soda. By 8:55 my soda has not arrived so I call. The delivery driver has gone home instead, aka Sheryl says he cant bring the drink. I asked why didn't you just take the soda out of the credit but in the middle of my sentence she is like "ok, ok, ok" I tell her she is rude and don't "ok" me in between my words.

Maxs Burger is not gonna keep forgetting my drink saying they will give me a credit and not keeping their promise. Watch out, cause the pretending to repeat your correct order and then get it wrong on the receipt to make extra money by giving you a "credit", is a scam. My food came in about 10 minutes when I ordered for delivery. I am pretty much right around the corner, but still, pretty amazing time. The food was super hot and Delicious. I usually order the Super Burger and Steak fries. I got chicken nuggets for my kid and they are way better than McD's imo. They never disappoint when I'm in the mood for a burger.

Update: 3 years from original review. I still get the super burger and fries regularly. Usually order pickup though. It was ready in 5minutes tonight!

The super burger is just awesome. Hands down my favorite burger in town.
