Ordered the combination pho and was not really impressed. The ratio of broth to the actual food was so off. I had to fish for noodles because I barely had any. The broth itself was mid so I had to re-flavor with lots of hoisin and sriracha. Meat tasted like it was in the fridge for too long, and I barely received any veggies so I went ask for more bean sprouts. By the time I added veggies, my bowl actually looked decent.
I may be reviewing too harsh, but coming from someone who eats pho regularly in cities like New Orleans, Houston, and Dallas that have big Vietnamese communities so their pho is always good, I shouldn’t be this critical to this restaurant since not a lot of Vietnamese are here….but this place was conveniently located at the food court in the mall so I wanted to try it. I had nearly given up home in Anchorage until I decided to give this spicy pho dish a try. OmG it knocks your taste buds out the park! The broth is rich, the spice is perfect, the noodles were cooked perfectly. There is no pork blood or anything fancy about the meats, but this will satisfy your bunbohue craving.
