I had the great fortune of being able to go to Alaska for a friends wedding. During my time in Alaska I had a lot of great food but, at the end of the day there is something about a great burger that really satisfies! Tommy's Burger Shop is exactly that - a darn good burger! Tommy's is a small and very eclectic burger joint, the staff is very attentive even though they are (from what I could tell) really busy all the time. My Dad and I were simply in the mood for some regular cheese burgers but, after looking over the menu we we're both astonished to see that they had a Cajun Style Fired Shrimp Po-Boy which we could not turn down. We both settled on 2 Burger Stop Burgers and a Shrimp-Po Boy for desert. Once we ordered, and since we had no place to be we went out to the small patio and sat down awaiting our meals. To say we were ready to eat is a huge understatement at this point. First and foremost the pictures you see online do not do this burger justice, it is a massive patty and the Lettuce, Tomato, Onions and Pickles were extremely fresh. The burger itself was seasoned to perfection and cooked perfectly. It can be hard to "rave" about a burger but- this one here deserves the hype. After scarfing down the burgers we turned our eyes to the Po-Boy... Knowing full well that there was no way in heck we would finish the whole thing, we split one of the half's down the middle and had at it. The flavor of the Po-Boy was spot on - there was a perfect crunch from the well prepared shrimp and and paired with the Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato, and Fresh Lemon made it well worth every second (even though we barley could move from our seats). Needless to say, we kept the other half for later. So at the end of my sermon here, I just wanted you to know that Tommy's is a fantastic spot for a burger and I imagine if you had one of their specialties it would be amazing. So if you are in the area do yourself a solid, and stop on by! And, Tommy's keep doing your thing - it is just splendid!

This is obviously a very highly rated place and I've heard over and over that it's a good spot. I definitely had to come try for myself. Maybe it's just during the winter, but seating is hard to come by. The few small tables there are get quickly filled and those who are waiting for one circle like vultures... so much so that customers seat themselves before the tables get wiped down. There also isn't a lot of room to navigate or wait after you've ordered. That was really the only negative I had to say about it. Wife and I ordered and managed to get a table after about 10 minutes during the lunch rush. Lots of folks waiting in their cars for orders to go and even more running in to pick up ones they called in. Service was very slow overall... orders piled up and most waited 30-40 minutes to get theirs. While we waited, we browsed the decor. Lots of random duct tape, stickers, and memorabilia from Star Wars, Elvis, etc. One review said it felt like the place was decorated by a teenager from the early 2000's. I'd have to agree. When we finally got our food, it was hot and fresh and loaded. I had the RLE burger and small onion rings, and I hated myself for the entire day after eating it. Really, really good... and portioned bigger than I expected. Onion rings were good and the fries were okay. The sauces are cheaply priced and delicious. If I had one complaint about the burger it was that it isn't really seasoned. The toppings and other items on the burger made up for it in the end. It's worth a try. We will be calling in an order next time and give a few of the other options a go.

I had the "Papa D burger" it had a nice layer of fried cheese on top of the fixings so they DID NOT slide off the burger....... brilliant/genius. It had jalepenos and bell peppers and another pepper with pepper jack cheese and some mayo tomato and lettuce and onion. It was great. The store is located next to the pawn shop on Spenard and Benson . It was 14 for burger 3.50 for fries and 7.50 for a 10 piece nugget. Totalling over 25 bucks. A little more expensive than McDonald's but the burger was original so...... oh well. It was a beautiful funny day with blue skies and white fluffy clouds ⛅ 💙 😍. If you are In Anchorage Alaska and hungry for a unique burger then this may be your next venture. I have included images for your convenience. ♿ ♿ ♿ ACCESSIBLE there are no steps from the car to the dining area so if your in a wheel chair you should be OKAY. ♿ ♿ ♿ 👍 👍 👍 NOTE: HELP please help my GOOGLE Local Tour Guide status by liking this review if it was helpful to you. It helps my score I do this to help others know what to expect so they can make better decisions with their dollar and their time. Please and thankyou.... and your welcome

Tommy's wasn't around when we were growing up (or we just didn't pay attention). We were looking for something quick as we were exploring midtown (Benny's was closed 😏) but we see this burger spot. Let me tell you their Aloha Burger was Awesomesauce 😋!!! Like my son said "their Aloha Burger put the Banzai to shame." We shared and order of onion rings and fries because trust me, even for 3 people, you don't need that much side. The service was fast. If you are lucky enough to snag a table inside, you see your food being cooked, smelling all those tasty patties makes you crave it even more. Now let me warn you it is very filling but soooo worth it. It's so cute too that if you are picking up your order they write your name on a dry erase board posted on the window #keepspenardweird yeah. This is another foodie stop must try if visiting Anchorage.

I believed the yelp reviews and what I saw looked good. My wife and I were in Anchorage for work and felt like a burger, so went up the street to try it. Let me say, this place rocks! The RLE Phillly was the bomb! In my top 5 philly's that I've had period. The thing I think that set it apart from others is that they actually seasoned the meat, which gives great flavor regardless of where you bite. The jalapenos mushrooms and cheese were excellent. Cant emphasize enough how good this was. Onion rings were stellar. Great ranch dressing too. My wife loved her burger. I think the Aloha burger. Great fries too. Chocolate peanut butter milkshake was fresh made in front of us. Phenomenal. The two girls at the front end were friendly helpful and really hard workers. Tommy's is fortunate to have them.
