Moultrie Store - 13 1st St NE, Moultrie, GA
I've lived in Moultrie 2+ years now, and have tried almost every restaurant in town. So when I hear of a new one, I gotta check it out. I kept seeing posts for 2 Scoops and a Dog opening up, but none of them said where!?! So I did a little Facebookvestigating and found it was located right downtown on the Square, and today I had a chance to stop in.
It is tucked into a small shop stall next to the Y, and immediately I was in love. Records on the wall, just a few booths, but clean and cheerful. I was warmly greeted immediately and shown the menu. They were offering burgers today, but apparently that is only when the owner is in store (for now). Sadly, they were out of fries for the day, so I opted for the Packer Pack - 2 chili dogs, chips and a drink. That's when the show started, lol. My order was yelled to the back kitchen, and an invisible voice, about as cheerful as disembodied voices can be, hollered confirmation. And when it was ready, that lovely voice made sure everyone knew their order was up! I won't give away what they do when an order of hot dogs leaves the kitchen, cause it's cute! I got my order, was getting my homemade drink, when the owner, obviously the owner of that wonderfully cheerful voice, came out from the back just to say hello. She made sure I had my food, my drink, and a napkin! Then she took the time to chat with me...just as nice and sweet as could be. Walked out with my food and a smile on my face! It gets better...I sat down with my chilli dogs and chips...OMG! Good dogs, DELICIOUS homemade chilli, soft bread...it was a heck of a mess, but...just wow. It was phenomenal! Definitely going back!
2 Scoops and a Dog: 13 1st St NE, next to the Y, across from the Christmas tree. They only take Cash or CashApp for the moment, and the specials change daily, but it is sure...
Read moreHorrible place to visit. I arrived after working 12 hours. I wasn’t greeted for almost 10 minutes. I placed an order for 2 regular hotdogs at $2/ea and a bag of chips which the total came out to be $7.41. I went ahead with the order because I needed to grab something to eat for my dad. The issue is there was a combo order for 2 chili dogs, a bag of chips, and a drink for $7. I didn’t have chili or a drink but was still charged this price. When I asked about it I was told that when all the three things I ordered were wrung up separately it totaled that price which doesn’t compute. Two regular hotdogs at $2/ea and a bag of $.25 chips total $7.41 is outrageous. Not only that, my dad didn’t even eat them because it tasted old. And I had to pay using cash app, with no receipt of my order. This is absolutely ridiculous and we wonder why we don’t support black businesses enough, it’s because of this. I’ve requested a refund through cash app and the owner declined. I wish I could give zero stars. I should’ve known after no one said anything to me when I arrived and there weren’t other people going inside. Please just visit Lil Red Dog...
Read moreThe hotdog is very cheap tasting and salty. They didn’t put that much slaw on the dog, over did it with the cheese. I felt like it was much more meatier tasting than it should be. It was very soggy. Everyone makes it seem like they have the best chili but I truly don’t think so. Idk, might not be what I consider the best chili. It had a weird meaty aftertaste that I was not fond on. I try to contribute to the local economy and this is what I get. The fries were way too expensive too. The German chocolate cake tastes like someone made a carrot cake and put the German chocolate coconut and something on top of the carrot cake. I liked the cake, but it wasn’t worth $20. This price gauging is outrageous. It was worth $15 at most. Do better!!! Everyone deserves constructive...
