Let's start with the positive. The food was good with huge portions. Not fantastic. But good. Others in my party said theirs was great, but mine was just good. The establishment was clean.
Now, for the rest. From the moment we walked in, it was clear we were NOT welcome and the waitress/hostess/cashier/whatever (hereby will be referred to as "the lady") clearly did not enjoy her job. We were "greeted" with...nothing. No smile, no greeting, no "how can I help", no "whatcha want", NOTHING. We ordered, with zero acknowledgement from the lady, and that was that. Oh, I asked for a cup of water and she said "we have bottles". And...THAT was it. The atmosphere was completely unwelcoming. There were tall tables and tall chairs, but all pushed against the wall in a "don't sit here" fashion. Two of our party of 4 decided we were indeed going to dine in, so we pushed some stuff together and made it work. After a considerable wait, the lady announced from her station that our food was ready, and motioned for us to come get it from her....4 different times over about 20 minutes, as it was all prepared one at a time apparently. Despite us literally sitting and clearly "dining in", the food was served in Styrofoam boxes and in plastic bags.
The cherry on top though was the utensils. My son and I needed forks for our food (as one typically does for a meal.......). There was a pack of utensils placed in each of our to-go bags, with a knife, spoon, napkin AND A HOLE where someone very clearly removed the forks for other patrons. I won't even bother with sanitary comments, but, the absurdity was just ridiculous. After waiting a good 10 minutes for the lady to reappear, we asked for forks and were promptly told they were in the bag as she retreated. We had to yell to get her attention back and tell her they were indeed, not in the bag. We eventually got forks.
I'll concede that it's clearly a take-out venue (at least, it's obvious in person...online, it's marketed as dine in or take out) so the plastic bags and lack of seating can be forgiven. But, the lack of hospitality and professionalism are absolutely unacceptable. If the experience was better, I'd consider eating there again. But based on this experience, absolutely never ever again. Such a shame since the food was good-ish and...
Read moreMy overall experience at Tatersalads with not very good. We were on a road trip and stopped in for lunch because they had vegan options. The few tables they have we're only set up for two at a table. We were able to move a table, but they didn't have four short chairs, only three, so the grandson sat in a tall chair. The girl that took our order didn't welcome us or thank us us or do much else other than grunt and tell us our total. My friend ordered a chef salad. On the board I said it was $10, but she was charged $11.95. when she asked about it the girl just grunted at her and handed her her receipt. Didn't explain or anything. Three of us ordered water not being told ahead that it was only bottled water that cost $1.35. On a positive note, my food was absolutely delicious! I had the Southwest bowl minus the cheese and sour cream to have a vegan option. At first I was concerned because there was no sauce, but it was very delicious I would definitely order it again, if I chose to ever go back there. Our meals were given to us in bags. Obviously they did not want us to stay and eat there yet we have no choice since we...
Read moreFirst time trying them yesterday. The front hostess and/or cashier (with the blue hair), was not the best. ALL the table and chairs were pushed against the wall. We truly (from looking at the pics online) thought it was a dine-in restaurant. My hubby ordered the turkey club and I ordered the salmon sandwich. When she handed us the bag with our food in it... We really thought they forgot to put one of our orders in the bag. It was SOOOO light. When we got to the car...Both sandwiches were in the bag... However, they were SO SMALL. I don't know what we were expecting. Clearly we were delusional for thinking they were going to be footlong (or close to it), sandwiches. We paid $27 (plus tax) for 2 freaking sandwiches, 2 bag of chips and 2 sodas.. I/we were like oh wow. My hubby ordered the turkey club sandwich. Key word "Club". There was no lettuce, tomato, pickle, etc on the sandwich. That club was NOT clubbin. My salmon was good. However, it was served on a brioche hamburger bun and the bread ended up being kind of soggy/wet. Anyway. First (and probably) last time...
