Updating my review. My main reasons for lowering my score are the food portions and the staff. Portions have become EXTREMELY small, but the prices have either stayed the same or increased. I understand the cost of everything has gone up, but the size of the portions I received were silly. I finished my beans in 2 bites. Same with the potatoe casserole. Those side portions wouldn't even satisfy a child. I'm not even a big guy. I'm 5'8" and 175lbs, lol!
The second part is the staff. I went in a few months back and was completely ignored. The staff even looked right at me at one point and then just walked off to the back out of my sight. It wasn't even busy. I was the only customer in there. I could have walked around the counter and served my own food and left without anyone giving a care in the world. I ended up just leaving and going somewhere else.
I decided to try again last night. I will not lie, they were at least respectful toward me, but were visibly upset and annoyed to be there. They seemed either short staffed or just unhappy working there. When I first went here a couple of years ago there were plenty of staff, everyone seemed at least happy, but not now. It's just a negative environment when you walk in. You can just feel how unhappy and tense the staff is. I'm curious if they are not treated well or underpaid compared to other similar nearby establishments.
I can go to other establishments nearby and get more food for the same or less money and not have to feel uncomfortable or feel bad for the staff. I have a feeling the leadership here is not that great based on everything I've noticed. I hope they can turn it around. I guess I'll try again in a few months again just to see.
As a consumer, though, you should seriously do something about the portions. The tiny little cups I received were a joke. It seriously felt like I was being pranked. I could not believe how tiny they were. It wasn't even that good either. What has happened...
Read moreuse to think highly of Dickey's The ones in Texas are great!
One thing, we know as people in these times don't have money nor time to waste not common for me to leave a bad review.......I traveled to come to this restaurant Dickey's bought 2 plates And a kids meal turkey
3 meat plate......and the rib plate, Almost 17 bucks.for a plate that came with 5 ribs and 2 small sides not even filled to the top. Felt cheated but, yet still hopeful. When I reached home, 45 minutes later. I fixed our plates. Bit into a rib and my God What did they smoke it in just salt!! That’s all you can taste just plain salt! Disgusting. My son didn’t eat and neither did I! The green beans where full of salt And now don’t get me wrong love my food seasoned but overkill will kill. The kids meal came with Turkey in which taste like cheap lunch meat and was the consistency of rubber!! I started not to call but my mind said I had to!! I spoke to Nick the manager and told him the problem. With pauses in between to see what his reasoning would be. I was told that he would check the cameras and see if they followed protocol REALLY?? Ok. I’m scratching my head now. Anyway he never once asked how he could make it right…. Straight to strike 3 Nevertheless the same repeated words I will check the cameras. You keep checking the cameras while I spread the word to others don’t waste your time.nor money. The portions are small and not worth the money. You can find better barbecue at another place probably with better quality food and not as much money. yet make it yourself I won’t be back. It was the last straw for me!! No resolution was the strike just money in the GARBAGE…
$44,00 that I was mad...
Read moreBeing from Texas, knowing and loving Dickies BBQ (its TEXAS BBQ!), and dying for some good bbq, I thought this would be a hit for sure. Not only was the guy running the register rude to his co worker by yelling at him in front of customers but he did not deliver very good customer service to us either. He was rushing around and grunting/sighing as if he was irritated by everything which is not the kind of tone that needs to be set in a hospitality establishment. So, I ordered my food with a tea because why would I want Texas bbq without sweet tea? He then told me my meal didnt come with a tea and charged me another $2+ for a tea because he "didnt hear me". I am fine with paying for the drink but not fine with having to run my card two times for a single meal. I then had to ask for to-go BBQ sauce and specifically asked for regular and spicy. I drove 20 minutes to get this food and then 20 minutes to my lake house where I'm currently visiting and got to my table to discover he gave me RANCH in place of REGULAR BBQ SAUCE! How he made that mistake is beyond me but I was not happy to have ONE sauce for my whole 2 meat meal which is a BIG deal to me. The sauce is half the experience! The meat was good but this time I tried the stacked mac n cheese with brisket and it was good but not as good as a brisket sandwich. Disappointed again by another restaurant...
