The gentleman that runs this newAgain shop is very nice, and seemed to have good intentions. I took my iPhone in after I replaced the battery myself. My home button stopped working after I put everything back together. He looked at it for $25 and told me that it needed a new digitizer, and that I had messed up one of the connections during the battery replacement. I am sure that replacing the screen may would have fixed my problem, but being that I didn’t mess with the area that was experiencing the issue, I felt that there had to be something simple wrong with the phone that wouldn’t be as extensive as replacing the whole screen.
With this being said, I took my phone into another shop in town and within 20 minutes he had my phone up and running again (home button and Touch ID) and wasn’t even going to charge me for it as it was a simple fix. I still payed him for his time, and he did charge me to put the gasket back in after I asked him to do so (at the other shop). He did have to look at the connections under a microscope and fix something but he made it a simple repair, and proved that my phone did not need a completely new screen. This saved me a lot of time and money.
So, in short, for less than it costed me to take it to newAgain I just have the guy look at my phone, my phone was repaired for less money. Granted, the guy at newAgain never pressured me into putting a new screen on my phone, and offered to help me if I had any questions when replacing it myself. But it turned out that if I would have put a new screen on it would have been in vain as there was just a small issue with a connection that was easily resolved. My frustration is that for the 25 he charged me, I feel that my device could have been fixed if he would have really wanted to. I am sure he has the experience to know how to fix this type of issue without replacing the whole screen, so he just didn’t want to do the extra work.
Lesson learned, I will take my business elsewhere (to the other job that actually...

Verizon had sent me a new phone under insurance, but I couldn't get my data off the old phone and was looking at loosing a years worth of family memories (I neglected to back up the samsung phone, and didn't realize as I'm a pple girl). Verizon said there was nothing they could do. I went to NewAGAIN Albemarle, and they were wonderful. 2 days later, my phone was fixed and the owner, Joey was able to fix it for significantly lower than original quote. I never would have known the difference, and yet he still shared that he was able to restore phone to perfect condition with lesser repair and reimbursed me the money. Expertise meets integrity meets generosity!🙌 My son was with me, and was eager to check out a basket in the lobby full of stuffed toys. Joey explained they were free dog toys and invited him to help himself! What a blessing this entire experience has been. Without a doubt, go see Joey and his team at Albemarle NC New Again Phone Repair. They are a breath of...
Read moreJoey at NewAgain Phone Repair was very helpful from the moment I called. I reached out to NewAgain on May 1, 2020. My phone had a cracked screen. Joey clearly explained the process of repairing my phone, any risks or unique aspects and the costs and options involved. He also incorporated concerns about COVID-19 and communicated how his business was keeping customers safe while still offering this necessary work in phone repair. Joey was professional, pleasant and very helpful. The way he took COVID-19 seriously was especially important to me. On May 4, I went to NewAgain for the repair. Joey was ready for me when my appointment began. And he finished my phone repair in the amount of time he said it would take. And the cost was exactly what he said it would be. My phone works exactly as it should. Thank you Joey...
