We were ready to like this place, but between the food and the state of the dining room it wasn’t great. Beat parts: our server was really kind, and my son thought his chicken fried rice was great (it was suitably bland for a picky little kid). The Po Po Platter was overdone, really oily, very dry/tough, and had no flavor other than “fried.” The shrimp lo mein had a decent number of shrimp but no flavor. Portion sizes were good, but for the price it was fair. The dining room looked more like a store room. Boxes everywhere, total mess. Maybe we just didn’t order the right dishes and caught them on a restocking night? But this was Saturday at 6 pm, so it seems strange.

EF Chinese Restaurant Review - 4.7 Stars I recently tried the Happy Family Meal at EF Chinese Restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience. The dish was a delightful mixture of chicken, shrimp, mushrooms, and a variety of fresh vegetables. The flavors were outstanding, with a perfect balance of sweet and spicy that left my taste buds thoroughly satisfied. This restaurant is definitely a spot to choose when you're in need of a satisfying meal. Highly recommended!

One of the small, "hole in the wall/mom & pop" eateries that serves one of Albuquerque's BEST authentic Chinese food. You won't go away hungry. You may need to ask for a to go box or doggie bag. Good eats, you won't be disappointed. Been coming here for the last 10 years, same family owned, operating and cooking. The Moo Goo Gai Pan is my fav.

The second star is for the The polite service. The food was extremely disappointing. We ordered the mixed seafood which was mediocre at best. The "crab" was most definitely imitation. Judging by the taste the texture of the "scallops" I'm betting they were as well. The shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. I had never tried egg foo young, but this place might have ruined it for me. It was basically very overcooked fried scrambled egg patties with absolutely no flavor whatsoever. There was a container of some kind of gelatinous gravy that I think was supposed to go with it but it did not have any flavor either. Both the steamed and egg fried rice were really dried out and the pot stickers were on the edge of burnt. I try not to be too critical but when I pay over $20 per entree I can't help but be upset when the food seems like there was made with little to no effort. It's rare that we spend money to eat out over the last nine months so I feel like I should write a detailed review because we were so disappointed with our meal. I definitely do not recommend this place. If you want good Chinese try Fai Wong, it's just a bit further down the road. Wish I would have gone with what I know is...

I don't understand why this eatery gets such high marks.

There is, what appears to be, inventory stored just inside the front door. It does not set the stage for a fine dining experience, but hey, we had to visit for the generally positive reviews Eat First has gotten.

The FIRST bite of the mediocre-tasting fried rice my wife took had a piece of gravel in it. Fortunately, she did not break a tooth. Oh well, the occasional foreign matter in rice might be expected.

We selected the combination plates - her Mongolian beef was very tough. My Chicken Lo Mein had very little flavour. The cabbage, however, was quite sour. I wasn't sure if it was Chinese cabbage, or the variety we'd get at the local grocery chain. We were not impressed.

The real clincher was when we got home. Both of us were quite ill with stomach distress. The leftovers we brought with us went straight into the trash. We had no desire to experience that again.

Needless to say (so why am I saying it, then?), we will not be dining at Eat...

I've come to the conclusion that New Mexico doesn't have any good Chinese food. We tried this restaurant after finding it had better reviews than anywhere else. While we waited for our order we saw quite a few health code issues that weren't super serious but still made us a bit uneasy. I ordered a shrimp lo mein combination plate which the only thing that was edible was the sweet and sour chicken. The shrimp smelled very strong and tasted past it's date, the lo mein noodles were probably just angel hair spaghetti, and they were very over cooked. The sauce on the noodles was extremely runny and took up more than half of the container and it tasted greasy and was all over my fried rice which made that inedible too. My husband was just as disappointed with his chicken lo mein combo. Between the fact that the food was terrible, and when we first tried to visit this restaurant it was closed for two weeks, I can safely say we won't...
