I saw a review of this bagel spot on social media early this week and decided to try it out for the first time. The atmosphere here is super nice and inviting! This is definitely a nice spot to enjoy some food and coffee with a friend or by yourself. There is plenty of seating so it would also be a great spot for students to enjoy some goodies and work on homework in the relaxed environment.
Unfortunately, during my first and second visit I did have some issues with items/elements in/of my order missing (i.e, first visit I paid extra to add potatoes to both of my breakfast bagels and when I got all the way home noticed only one had potatoes even though I paid extra for both to get it. Second visit, I ordered just a bacon, egg and cheese and drove all the way home to notice there wasn’t any bacon in my bagel. I did call and they did remake my bacon, egg and cheese bagel though! So my advice on that is to double check your order is correct and that you get everything before you leave.)
Despite some missing elements of my orders on both occasions, I do think these bagels are amazing! As a girl who spent some time in NJ and developed a love for breakfast bagels, I’ve finally found a spot that has NY style bagels and my heart...
Read moreThe husband, nephew, & step-daughter and I all went to the opening day of Horizons Bagel & Cafe. 1 The cafe was decorated with 2, 4 top tables ,& 1 family size table. They all had cute little flower arrangement on each table. There was a blackboard they encountered you to use. All the food: bagels, soups schmears etc is made in house. The husband had the everything bagel egg sandwich with bacon it was delicious. I stole a bite. The step-daughter had the same thing she also had an order of Latkes, I enjoyed them. The nephew had the egg breakfast burrito and the broccoli cheese soup, that soup was some of the best I have ever had. I had the sesame bagel with the lox schmear; they ask if you want the tomato, onion & capers if there is any other way to eat lox. I also had a bowl of Matzo ball soup. This soup has such a rich broth, the veggies were tender but not mushy, the chicken was not dry and the Matzo balls almost floated out of the bowl. I highly recommend.
You can buy schmears to take home and they also had some beautiful pastries...
Read moreOne of the best bagels and breakfasts I’ve had in the city! I don’t know if the corned beef hash was seasonal or not, but I love that it was on the special this morning. I added a fried egg atop the latkes (which are pretty much like deep fried hash brown balls, crunchy on the outside and fluffy in) and the caramelized onions. The side of the deli mustard added the perfect sharpness to the special. My partner got the trad Lox and bagel. The salmon was smoky, the capers were sour and popped perfectly, and the onions were nicely sliced. The bagels were fresh, hard exterior, spongy inside, classic, but also topped with melted cheese and jalapeño (if you like spicy like I do.) The corned beef hash reminded me of the hash up north in Santa Fe at The Pantry. Their service was stellar, transparent, and accommodating. The lattes were also paired perfect with everything we got. Will definitely be back to try more breakfast...
