One of the worst and overrated "Chinese" restaurants that I've had in Albuquerque. Read reviews on Reddit saying that this place was "so great" so I had to try it....and those reviews are lies. The food tastes like really bad shopping mall fake chinese food. The shrimp fried rice was more akin to steamed rice with sweetned soy sauce with steamed undercooked egg white with peas and carrots. Not one bean sprout or any type of onion in sight. The rice was soggy/wet, had weird sweet taste with the taste of undercooked wet egg. It was absolutely disgusting. I have no idea what this is, but it ain't fried rice. Nothing whatsoever was fried about it, or edible. GROSS. See pics attached. The shrimp and broccoli was watery and thin tasting and the shrimp did not seem fully cooked. I got nauseous while trying to eat this food and finally stopped. Oh, they provided a very small portion of steamed white rice on the side and the take out Styrofoam boxes were the flimsiest that I've ever seen, just like another reviewer mentioned. I could not stomach the food and literally got nauseous trying to eat it and eventually threw my meal in the trash. Wish to God that I could get a refund. Fyi, I know real chinese food and...
Read moreI have been searching for a place that serves the numbing Szechuan for 6 years. Today my wife and I finally found a place that serves it in a hot pot, soup style.
I, of course, ordered the hot pot, while my wife ordered the black pepper shrimp. We also ordered Shrimp Tempura and the eggrolls.
The Shrimp Tempura was amazing. Very good flavor with a light tempura.
The eggrolls on the other hand were actually spring rolls and the same served at every chinese take out place. Nothing special about them.
Now the amazing part, The Beef Hot Pot. This hot pot has the numbing feeling along with the Szechuan spices. The taste was amazing and spicy. My only complaint about the dish is that they used the really cheap beef that every take out chinese uses. This was a huge negative for the meal. I wont mark bad for the beef, because the dish tasted amazing. My wife's black pepper shrimp was on a whole another plane of existence. The shrimp tasted amazing! The spice was just right (a bit spicy for my wife from Maine though).
The service was amazing too! The staff is very nice and helpful.
Remember the Hot Pot is for at least 2 people, so don't be scared of the price, you get your...
Read moreRude. Felt like an inconvenience the entire time my cousin and I were there. Service was barely there. Menus peeled off the slightly sticky table. Felt rushed every time the lady came to the table. Orange chicken only had rind shavings, more bread than chicken within, Cold wet broccoli shoved in around the edges, with a small scoop of rice, and very low flavor. Shrimp lo mein had 6 rubbery shrimp and tasted like they just put soy sauce on it. Our dishes came out fairly fast , but 5 minutes separate from each other and guests should be served at the same time. Overpriced. Stingy with the sauce for the cheese wontons and was never asked how the food was or really interacted with in general. THEN, I left a low tip ( not zero) and the busser presented it to our server/cashier in front of us while checking out and made it super awkward when she remarks in a sarcastic tone her thanks. Then my cousin drew a line through the digital tip part and she ( the server lady)said, "that's ok." Rather snyde like. Overall, I don't get how this place is still open. Oh and no boba, despite what...
