Good Ole Boys BBQ — Restaurant in Alexander City

Ordered two regular pulled pork sandwiches & banana pudding $18.67. $6.99 is on the pricy side for a pulled pork sandwich in my opinion so it should stand out in order to be worth paying that price... IT WAS !!! The sandwiches were HUGE and not drowned in sauce and had a heavy smoked flavor, well worth the price! The only thing missing, for me at least, was the lack of pickles when i had asked for extra pickles when ordering BUT the sandwich made up for that.

I can't say the same for the $2.99 banana pudding, it was roughly 2 tablespoons worth in one of the 'sauce cup' size styrofoam containers, just enough in there to get a taste of pudding and make you upset that there isn't more... not even enough to get the BBQ taste out of your mouth. Disappointed to say the least.

At least I know where I can get a good pulled pork sandwich when I'm in AlexCity, it's definitely not at the other two BBQ...

We went here around 1:30 pm Fri, 5/13/22. We ordered 2 potatoes stuffed with pork and cheese, coleslaw, 2 iced teas. The potatoes were huge and filled with excellent pulled pork, topped with cheese. We added extra sauce on the table which was perfect, just the right amount of sweet, tangy, smoky and a little spicy, complemented the hickory smoked pork. We thoroughly enjoyed this late lunch, got a menu and we will definitely return. They have take out on their menu to order ahead of time or day before, depending on amount in order for them to have ready at pick up time and they post that some items take 15 min to prepare which is reasonable, good food takes time to prepare well. It's in a gas station, so zero ambiance. You order at a counter, then go into the gas station to pay, then bring your receipt back to the counter before they start your food. The food itself was mediocre. The smoked wings were moist and meaty, but had zero smoke taste. The fries were not fresh and were oversalted. The pulled chicken was dry. The sauce is way too sugary. Best thing on my plate was the green beans. Best thing on a friend's plate was the potato salad. Amongst all of us there, I didn't hear anybody rate the food above a "three...
