Honey Hole Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Alexandria

Me and my sister came here for dinner 3 weeks ago. The table next to us that got there AFTER us not only got their order taken and food before us, but also were able to cash out and leave before us. Our server did not check on us a single time. We waited for an hour and a half for our food. The host kept giving us nasty looks. The bartender came up to us at one point with a check that wasn't ours and that we didn't ask for. The water tasted like someone scooped it out of a toilet bowl and threw ice on it. We sat with empty drinks for 25 minutes before someone asked us if we wanted a refill of dirty toilet bowl water. Then when our food did come out we didn't get ANY of the sauces we asked for. Not to mention tater kegs come with ranch and we didn't even get that. Then when our food came out we asked for boxes and checks. It took another 30 minutes for someone to bring us the correct check. Our server brought us one check and when we said they were separate she literally ROLLED HER EYES right in front of us. Then I assume was scared to come back because she sent 3 different servers to us asking us what we got. Everything you do or ask for here takes literally 30 minutes. I think waiting for the check took the same amount of time as it did waiting on our food. We used to love eating here and would frequently visit, but safe to say we're both pretty disgusted with the service and won't be back anytime soon. It's like these servers aren't even trained and have no idea what they're doing. My sister and I are both servers so we usually ALWAYS tip other servers over 20% no matter the experience and we also know good service when we see it... But THIS was just such a horrible experience all together. Train your servers, hire more cooks, and make sure your servers are aware that they have no idea who they're serving because they could miss out on a nice tip just because they wanna make it a game of "Diner Dash", instead of an actual experience for the customers. I'm 6 months pregnant and wanted to go shopping after I ate but because this place took TWO HOURS to serve us- By the time we were able to run out the door, everywhere within a 30 mile radius was closed. DO BETTER. Wish I got the server's name but unfortunately these servers don't even...

We arrived on a Friday just before 5, before what seemed to be the after work rush and had someone to our table to take drink orders quickly. After that, service seemed to be disjointed. Very young looking serving staff, and skills training in interaction with customers might be a suggestion. Different servers taking food order, bringing food to table, and getting drink refills which we had to flag someone down to get. One in our party didn’t get a refill because we couldn’t get a server’s attention in addition to not knowing who actually was our server.

Food was decent for the most part, with the fried pickles being stellar. One disappointment was the juicy Lucy which was over seasoned and over cooked. It was a little hard round ball in the center of a bun. Had to ask for mayo which the menu said was included. Ketchup bottles both were nearly empty, empty when we left, and felt greasy. The water tasted off, as if the lines or the ice machine needed to be cleaned. It was a weird flavor that was hard to identify.

It was not a horrible experience, just meh. We don’t see a reason to return being that there are other options available.

Train the staff a bit better is the biggest suggestion because they seemed...

I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to come here and eat. My 11 year old son calls it the Pot Hole cause of how terrible the service is every time we go. There is always multiple waitresses when we are there and no one ever seems to know who has what tables. We had a waitress tell us she'll be right with us as she carried a tray of food outside. Then another woman came and got our drink orders while we waited, and then we never saw anyone for about 20 minutes. I finally flagged a different waitress down & she said our waitress was in the kitchen...When the girl came out she wasn't even the one who told me she'd be right with us & I hadn't seen her the entire time we sat there and waited. She seemed in shock that we had complained about our wait time & said she didn't know we were her table. Our food came out and the burger was so salty it was basically inedible. Getting a refill was nearly impossible. We were in a bit of a hurry that day, only had about an hour to be there, which I felt was sufficient time to order, eat & check out. However we ended up being there an hour & a half. The front entrance area always smells of mildew & the restrooms...
