There is more to life than donuts, but until that "more" reveals itself, Just Fine Donuts is more than just fine. They have an assortment of flavors comparable to that of Donut Run, but I'm a bigger fan of Just Fine's selection, which is a little less frilly imho. I've had the mango tajin, chocolate coconut, ube, maple bacon, and boston cream here, ranked in order of goodness. I got the first three today, and they had about 50% of the frosting on the average modern-day donut, which is still 200% more frosting than I'm a fan of on a good yeast donut -- all that to say that they are close to the ideal and have at least mastered the fundamentals here.
Alright has anyone been tracking the uptick in donut frosting?? I have scraped off gobs of icing from donuts across the country in recent years. Are the donuts changing or am I?
The mango tajin did have a not-too-sweet jelly filling that was perfect and frosting that could have done with a little more tajin. I was as disappointed as I could be while still being very content with the ube donut -- the frosting lacked any distinct ube flavor but there was not so much of it resulting in an overall positive experience. Read moreThe doughnuts are amazing however, the customer service is horrid. We stopped by this morning and the staff helping customers were extremely rude and rushed their customers. We waited in line just like everyone else did and when we got up to the counter (which is small) they wanted us to move out of the way so the next customer behind us could be helped as well…we were literally in the middle of picking our doughnuts out and btw there is only one cash register so maybe just help the current customer and worry about the rest after you take care of the ones in front of you. No doughnut had a flavor / name associated with them so it’s a guessing game when ordering and the staff is beyond rude to guests who are trying to figure out how to order a doughnut without a flavor sign…do better! We understand you are a popular stop but serve your customers well and a little courtesy goes a long...
Read moreMy daughter has a dairy intolerance which requires me to be on a dairy free diet as well (breastfeeding). I have been craving and wanting donuts ever since I had her, especially since I usually can’t have them due to containing milk ingredients. We were sooo happy to find this gem! These donuts are amazing. The line was out the door and we got there probably 20-30 minutes after opening on a Saturday. I’ve heard they sell out around 10:30-11 so get there early! You know it’s good when they sell out. Will definitely be coming back. My husband also got a Kolache (pictured) which aren’t dairy free so I couldn’t try it but he said it was amazing… and he doesn’t really like sausage so I feel like...
