I tried Popeyes Chicken for the first time and won’t be back for a while. The menu felt underwhelming and the flavor of the food was similar to KFC/Long John right up the road with a few exceptions.
My table ordered $50 worth of food which included: popcorn shrimp, spicy chicken sandwhich, chicken tenders, Mac and cheese, and cajun fries. The two items here that are worth mentioning and reordering would be the spicy chicken & the Cajun fries. The rest of the food wasn’t memorable.
The atmosphere was modern and lots of the seating options accommodate up to four people. The space is on the smaller side and while there the mess of customer traffic was quickly stacking up. The counters near the drink machine needed cleaned up and tables needed wiped down at times. With that, I will say before leaving I did see a manager on the floor addressing some of those messes. There was also an inconsistency with the way meals were packaged (box vs. paper boat) and the honey packets were covered in honey on the outside. The parking lot can be tight and depending on the amount of traffic jammed up. The flow of traffic also has to share lanes and space with the Dunkin Donuts right next store. It will be interested to see what happens when both places are open and seeing customers. I would caution to stay alert (one of the entrances/exits is at the drive they side where majority of the parking is) and drive slow.
The service was okay. There were several employees standing around one another at the registers. This might be folks shadowing or training I’m unsure. My biggest complaint with the service was the communication. I placed an order that included a large Mac and cheese. The rest of my food came out rather quickly (10min or less) without the Mac and cheese. None of the employees said anything about the missing item or a delay in filing the order. I waited a total of 40min and had to go to the counter 3 times asking about it. Being told each time it would be ready soon. Apparently, they were only filling individual orders and not large orders due to running low on supply.
Overall, I think a lot of these service flaws can improve over time once the rush of the “opening days” slow down and I can see a few of the item menus being worth the...
Read moreIt was a terrible thunderstorm. This was the worst service we've ever received from any restaurant. When I went to order through the drive-thru, she told me to hold on but then took a person that was after me in the other line. I told her my order and she said it would be $39.60. She did not repeat my order and it was not on the screen. We pulled over into a parking spot and check the food order. They got the combos wrong. Also, the red beans and rice, and both the chicken sandwich and the chicken tenders were nasty. There were bites where you had to spit it out because you couldn't chew it. There was a very nasty aftertaste of the coleslaw. And we've been to Popeyes before and loved it. I actually had to go inside when I found out our order was wrong in that terrible terrible thunderstorm and nobody cared that our order was totally wrong. This was the first time we had been to that location (it's been open approximately 1 month). I'm pretty sure that they overcharged us for the meals they gave us were more expensive than our chicken tenders meals, and the manager did not care at all. He just said "oh that sucks". I finally got someone to remake the order but like I said, the food was so horrible. I contacted Popeye' customer service And they offered me 500 points if I signed up for an account. We spent $40! Never going back. Popeyes...
Read moreUsually pretty decent. Until tonight wife ordered pick up for 6:30 little over an hour ahead. I was driving through heavy traffic for almost an hour and a half from work. Arrives thirty minutes past pick up time. Got to the window saw someone place a bag on the counter no one brought it to me figured it's not mine. After fifteen minutes order placed on the counter is finally brought to me. Guess it was mine. No big deal I'm tired and just want to go home and eat. Another 20 minute drive to the house. Get there and we are missing a fry a biscuit. My four peice has two legs a thigh and a wing. Theu had an hour to put that order together and I arrived thirty minutes late and still this order was that messed up. I really don't get it. How do you mess up this bad with an hour to prepare and an extra thirty minutes because of my delays. Outside of the missing items and unwarranted chicken peices swapping. The food was fine cold but that's on me anyway. But over all disappointed tonight this location usually does so much better. But for the prices they are charging I expect everything I order to at...
