Whiskey And Wine — Restaurant in Algonquin

A group of 4 of us came for the champagne tasting on New Years Eve. We had friends in from out of town to celebrate the new year. We have been here multiple times before and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. We had our 2 month old with us who was sound asleep in a wearable carrier. We grabbed the last table all the way in the back that was furthest from any action by the bar. My husband started looking around while wearing our baby and the server came up to him and told us we needed to leave. She said they didn't have a kitchen so no one under 21 could be there. I've tried to look up since then about being in a bar with anyone under 21 in Illinois and as long as minors are with parents and not sitting at a bar it's acceptable. Seems like discrimination to me on why we were kicked out so I won't be going here again. Very disappointed with this...

I can't attest to the food here, as I've never had it, but this is a gem in the downtown Algonquin area. I've had many wine tastings here and they have always been amazing! Today, I came in for the mimosa flight, and it was DELICIOUS! My partner has always done the whiskey tastings, and he has never been disappointed. For whiskey, they give you a pamphlet with your name on it to keep there so that you can check off the whiskeys you've tried from their collection. If you fill up the pamphlet, I believe you get a Whiskey and Wine shirt. Their whiskey selection is huge too! I took a client on a small tour of old town Algonquin after a long day of home showings. It was my first time in and I was instantly impressed with the extensive knowledge of the staff and the impressive variety of Whiskey for my client to choose from.
