We’ve been visiting this spot since it was Rainbow Restaurant and used to enjoy breakfast here from time to time. Since the change in ownership, now called Yolk’s Corner, it has gotten even better. The inside feels more modern, the menu is full of choices, and everything we’ve tried so far has been delicious.
My personal favorite is the berry blintzes—they’re outstanding. I always choose them over pancakes or other sides, and honestly, they’re the main reason I keep coming back. My husband is a big fan of the Mexican skillet. The menu offers plenty of Mexican-inspired dishes, and they’re made just the way you like—spicy or mild. The breakfast options blend classic American favorites with Mexican flavors, making every meal really enjoyable.
The atmosphere during breakfast is about the same as before: mostly older guests, though sometimes families with kids, depending on the day. With the new longer hours and the addition of a bar, the vibe may shift later in the day.
Price-wise, breakfast for two with tip runs about $40–50, which we see as a plus. Hopefully prices stay reasonable. Overall, we love coming here and wish the new owners the best. They’re doing a wonderful job taking care of customers, especially those of us who have been...
Read moreBeen here 6 times now. I haven't had a bad meal yet!! The atmosphere is fresh, calm, and relaxing. The quality of the food is incredible for this type of restaurant, and the price! I've had the breakfast enchiladas, pancakes, a burger, cob salad, and the turkey BLT twice!! The soup was delicious too. I'm not a huge fan of hashbrowns but they came with one of my meals... and they are the best I've ever had to the point I would order them again. One visit the waitress forgot to bring my soup... we both forgot about it until the bill came. They made good on it with excellent customer service, took the soup off the bill, and gave me one to go at no charge. Last visit I got the cob salad... it was huge, beautiful, and packed with all the "goodies" it's supposed to have. I love that they do a rewards punch card program... nice little perk to feel like a valued customer. I hope they have dinner hours eventually. It would be great to have another dinner option that's has diner style food. This is definitely my new first choice for breakfast and lunch in the area. I even took a friend from out of town here and she said next time she's in town we have to come...
Read moreMy new favorite breakfast place omg…My boyfriend and I have been here 3 times in the last two weeks and every single time left us wanting to go back for more. The servers we had, Andy and Damien were both extremely attentive and friendly. During one of our visits Damien was serving 6 different tables on his own, yet still managed to give us an amazing dining experience. Andy, on our most recent visit, was absolutely delightful, ecstatic and hilarious. Bella, the hostess, was also very kind and seated us quickly. As for the food, we have tried the Greek omelette, Mexican omelette, pancakes, and Antonio burrito and all have tasted exceptionally delicious. The coffee here is soooo yummy, we always get a cup to go and the prices are the cheapest you will probably get in the Algonquin area. You MUST come...
