Jin C. came here for dessert after grabbing dinner in the area. Since Salju Dessert is in a plaza, they are a good number of parking spaces available, although they do fill up quick. We got lucky and managed to score a parking spot right in front of Salju. There are a very limited amount of tables and seats inside, with some high tables and some low. The front side of their menu is dedicated to their most popular item: Snow Ice! When you order, you choose a size, a flavour, a syrup (optional), and toppings. The small comes with 2 toppings, the medium comes with 3 toppings... any additional toppings will be $1/each.
We got a Medium Honeydew Snow Ice, with Condensed Milk, Strawberry, Egg Pudding, and Mochi. The size was great for the two of us to share. I really liked the honeydew flavour; if you are familiar with the Korean popsicle Melona, it pretty much tastes exactly the same. I absolutely love condensed milk and I was sad that they did not pour very much of it on the snow ice :( As for the toppings, the strawberry and mochi were fine. Neither of us liked the egg pudding, especially since it just came as a large lump and was hard to break up into pieces with the plastic spoon.
Apart from the egg pudding and the small amount of condensed milk, our snow ice was good. It was not life-changing-amazing, but I enjoyed it and would not mind coming back here again. But since there are other snow ice places I enjoy as well, I would not go out of my way to come here. Looking at other reviews, perhaps next time I should try their crepes... 3.5 stars but rounded down for...
Read moreWhen you’re craving for crêpes after a wild storm in LA. I say there’s gotta be a close consanguinity between a man’s craving for crepe and a cold rainy day. Without further ado let’s start my review of Salju. (Sounds like a rhyme) lol. Salju Dessert is a dessert shop that specializes in snow shaved ice, fruit acai bowls, crispy crêpe and drinks. It is located in a very small plaza on the corner of Valley blvd and Second street. It’s interior design was very modest with welcoming atmosphere. I came here after the storm on a late Wednesday afternoon and upon my arrival, I was greeted by a friendly young female staff. I perused their menu which has a modest and strait forward items. I immediately looked at the crêpes section w/c has seven types of flavors. I ordered their Mixed Fruit Crepe, a concoction of strawberry, mango, banana, kiwi, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. The crêpe was sweet, crunchy and savory galettes filled with cut fresh fruits, vanilla ice cream at the bottom and whip cream on top. It was purely simple, and yet taste really bloody good mate! (British accent). Their portion match the price. Price were fair and competitive. Staff was patient, obsequious, competent and followed health protocol. No Wifi available. Maximum seating capacity is 22 people (prepandemic). Parking lot is small but ample of street parking available. Overall, I had a good order experience and savory mixed fruit crêpe dessert. I highly recommend this...

Salju is a cozy dessert spot located on Valley Boulevard in Alhambra, a city in Los Angeles County. As soon as you walk in, you'll notice the warm and inviting atmosphere, with comfortable seating and minimalist decor.
Now, onto the desserts. Salju offers a variety of treats, including shaved ice, ice cream, and various drinks. Their signature dish is the "Snowflake," which is a mountain of shaved ice topped with your choice of toppings. The shaved ice is so light and fluffy that it practically melts in your mouth, and the toppings are plentiful and varied.
In addition to the Snowflake, Salju also offers several other shaved ice creations, such as the Mango Tango, which is topped with fresh mango and condensed milk. They also have an extensive ice cream menu, with flavors like Black Sesame and Milk Tea.
Ordering is easy, just pick a size of the cup and flavor and then pick two sides or as manager sides as you want. The prices are reasonable too. We paid less than $5 for two toppings.
Overall, I would highly recommend Salju Dessert Place to anyone looking for a sweet treat in Alhambra. The desserts are delicious and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Whether you're in the mood for shaved ice or ice cream, Salju has got...
