Yianni’s Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Aliquippa

We are regulars at Yianni's, so much so that I have changed my work schedule so I can come for brunch each weekend. But our recent experiences have made me reconsider, and we have been coming less and less, this experience being a cherry on top.

Let me start off that the wait staff is ALWAYS absolutely phenomenal. We have been served by Jess regularly and we are never dissapointed. She is always aware of what is available and openly informs us is there is a delay in the kitchen. The servers are always on top of cleanliness in the facility and are obviously working HARD. We are never in a rush because there can sometimes be a wait. It's a popular restaurant.

Now for the rest. Over the past few months it seems as if the kitchen is falling apart. Time and time again we send food back for errors made clear by waitstaff (I've watched the ticket be written in bold and circled and food still come out incorrect). I stopped getting my favorite meals because no one can serve warm sausage gravy! This weekend I watched the kitchen staff ignore waitstaff when asked about order times. I watched a dozen or more clients walk out when they were not served in a timely manner. I saw a group of people eat with one person at the table without her meal because the kitchen was unable to make her two EGGS. I watched as customers abused staff and Yianni was nowhere to be found, and no one except other customers defended staff. I watched an 8 top fail to tip even 2% of their entire bill because the kitchen made repeated errors on one meal and failed to fix them as the waitress says 15x THIS IS NOT RIGHT. WHERE ARE THE EGGS. DO I HAVE A TIME FRAME ON THOSE 2 EGGS HELLOOOOOO CAN SOMEONE ANSWER ME?

I watched as a wonderful staff was abused because Yianni has failed to upkeep his standards. It appears the manager on scene was possibly high and the kitchen was completely dysfunctional. I watched as a young lady pulled a chunk of bright orange plastic out of her meal. The meals at my table took over 1 hour to arrive and they were good, but grits were cold and potatoes undercooked and looked similar to dog food due to kitchen carelessness.

I find it very disheartening to watch as poor management hurts an entire staff systematically and purposefully. When a manager continues to make bad choices and it falls on your staffs' shoulders, you need to make some changes. Yianni will loose the good staff before he gets his kitchen in order.

You won't listen to your staffs' cries for help, that is why I am placing this review. Maybe you can salvage the good you have and take out...

You seat yourselves. It’s a small restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly lady who took our drink order. Got black coffee didn’t taste to bad. I got the special my husband got a home style breakfast plus the biscuits and gravy. My food was really cold I’m thinking it must have been already made. Since it was the special. My husband’s was hot. But I was. Disappointed because there was no mention of an extra 1.50 charge for your already included in the price eggs. I’ve been to lots of restaurants since the increase and this is the only restaurant that charged. I just thought it was a bit greedy since the price was already high. Our server was very friendly and attentive. So that was good. And please bring cash for tip , they won’t let you tip...

My brother, his wife, my husband & I go there for breakfast sometimes on the weekend! The Service is A-1...The Best anywhere, the waitresses are all so nice and quick with your drinks and meal. You get a ton of food for the price and it is Delicious!! You want homemade breakfast, go to Yianni's. You will not be disappointed! And the atmosphere in there is very homey! We all love it!! I would encourage anyone who hasn't been there to go! You will love it...
