I've been coming here for the 2nd time (last week) with friends after wacthing dancing classes in the next door. This time we ate very light dinner before attending the performance at that night. I like their Chef Special Menu. Tornado Roll is a must, the 2nd best in the menu is Garlic Shrimp Roll (just trying this menu is yummy 😋).

Great quality sushi, thick cuts of sashimi and amazing prices. Kind and helpful service. Authentic Japanese cuisine. Spent about $23/person with a great lunch special - sushi, sashimi and a roll. What more do you need from a great sushi spot?

With its mouth-watering dishes, Koya is a must-visit for any foodie. The restaurant's inviting atmosphere and top-notch customer service improved our delightful experience. Don't miss out on the chance to indulge in their delectable cuisine!

Came here because it was the only "Japanese" restaurant in Aliso Viejo that had ramen on the menu. With a 4+ rating I figured it couldn't be bad. WRONG. We walked into a half full restaurant with no wait, apparently. After waiting a while, we were told to sign the wait list.. with literally nobody stand in front of us. I think it was to just kill time as they walked around without any purpose.

We were finally seated and it took an eternity to get a menu. I had to ring the little service bell on the table to get someone to take our order. The ramen finally came, and lets just say you could make a better ramen in your kitchen in half the time. The noodles were still clumped together like it came out of the frozen package. Broth bland. Two pieces of "Tonkatsu" were deli meat slivers. The egg was hard boiled. This is pretty much what you get from a non-Japanese owned Japanese restaurant.

I ordered a sushi roll too.. let's not get started on that. Go somewhere else. If you want good Japanese food, this...

Very mediocre at the best, all the sushi are essentially the same with slight different toppings, and smothered with heavy sauce absolutely not authentic by any means. Found multiple fish bones in our fish, and the fish dont taste fresh, very mushy. Don't let the buy one get the second sushi for 50% off fool you. It looks like a good deal, but if you compare the price with other restaurants and the quality, it's not worth it. We waited for half an hour before getting a seat and another half an hour before our food arrived, given it was a Friday night, I will cut them some slack, but the waitress had to be reminded multiple times to bring us things we asked for. The deal breaker for me was the wasabi, how do you screw up some bottom shelf store bought wasabi? It was bland, no taste, had to mix the entire serving in my soy sauce. Overall,...

I came here today for my birthday with my friend and had their sushi for the first time. I personally loved the sushi and the server was very fast to take our orders. I was surprised that the miso soup was not on the menu, which is what I usually have with sushi at other sushi restaurants. The server was very accommodating with providing us the miso soup. The sushi came out quick, but I was very disappointed with the dessert, specifically the mochi (green tea) ice cream. It tasted grainy and arrived melted/ defrosted. It was supposed to taste like green tea, but it actually tasted more citrus flavored. I would not recommend ordering the ice cream here. The prices were good and the environment was very welcoming. Will consider coming back, but not for...
