It's okay. It's a bar with a fair selection of food items. Burgers are always what they have done best. Beer selection isn't the greatest unless they added to it since the remodel.

Had a medium rare ordered new York strip there once came way over done. Haven't tried their steaks since, but this was years ago.

[EDIT] Most of their sandwiches, e.g. reuben are HUGE, but in this case it's quantity WAY over quality as their corned beef has always been HORRIBLY salty, but if you go for lunch I'll bet that you'll have enough of that sandwich left for dinner if you can take another salt attack. I REALLY wish that they'd go for higher quality deli meats(or maybe even make their own corned beef as even I can do better cornwed beef at home at least) and cut back on the quantity IF that's what it takes.

Their appetizers and stuff are usually OK, again as with the better items here not the greatest that I've ever had but far from the worst, excepting that the "chili" for their chili fries, I'd've been happier having that as entree in a bread bowl, the chili that is as it tasted more like a beef stew than any chili that I've ever had before, i.e. not very spicy, but it looked to be made from scratch and I think that they probably went too light on the chili spicing. (Ordered as part of a carryout order fairly latish as in I was surprised that the kitchen was still running. Bars IME close the kitchen/grill usually hours before closing time...)

I've had chicken and other entree items here before as well, but just can't really recall them which again means that they were probably just OK as I don't have any particularly bad memories of them, but none particularly special either.

Still haven't gone back since they've re-modelled. They added windows to the front, so I'd like a nice sunny day to see what it's really like in there(used to be pretty dark and dim -- no windows, just usual dim bar lighting)

Pricing AFAIK from a few months back(just prior to re-modelling) were decent for what you got, bearing in mind the...

It's been years since I've been here and we decided to come here tonight for Polish Thursday. We were not disappointed! It was SO nice being in such a comfortable, relaxed, and not wild/chaotic atmosphere. It wasn't loud, everyone was really nice and the patrons were all great. Idk I'm so used to going 0ut to restaurants around here and people are just loud, obnoxious, inconsiderate etc, so this was such a refreshing and cozy experience.

As far as the service goes, the waitress was super sweet. She wasn't the most knowledgeable about the menu, and I kinda just wish she had just said "that's a great question! Let me go find it for you" but I get it, she had a lot going on, it was 6:30-7:30 so ppl kinda flocked in to eat before the Lions game started. But other than that she was really great, super sweet, and attentive.

As far as the food goes, we got chicken tenders and fries, a Reuben sandwich, Reuben panini, and the pierogi dinner. We had asked if there was just like a side of just perogies we could get and the waitress was unsure but then said no. However, later, another table received "a side of pierogies" according to the waitress that was handling their table. I looked at it, and it looked to be about 5 or 6 pierogies which was exactly what we wanted, but I digress.

The chicken tenders - one basket was full of large pieces, the other they were all small, so it was quite inconsistent.

The Reuben meat was good, I do wish it was sliced thinner though. The nature of it just makes it tougher when it's thicker, you know? And makes it seem dry, but its really not, it's just the way it is when it's so thick.

So, while it wasn't perfect, it was still great and honestly 10x better than the typical experience at ANY other place around here, seriously. We'll definitely...

Update: Drinks are still cheap but the food continues to go down hill. I avoid this place for food now, as the owner clearly just buys whatever cheap frozen stuff the supplier has on sale. I have had them serve me 4 different kinds of fries in the last year. Appetizers are not great. Sandwiches aren't as good as they used to be. Hope the owners get their act together when things get back to normal. Last time I was here our server just complained about how she didn't want to be there the whole time. They really need to hire decent kitsch and wait staff and trim the fat.

Original review: This is the spot. Bar staff is always nice and helpful. Food is pretty good (the Reuben is as big as your head) and prices are fair, but the real reason I always come back is the happy hour specials. $1.50 domestic bottles and $2 dollar well drinks that actually taste good. It's really hard to beat. A solid go to watering hole. Update: Drinks are still cheap but the food continues to go down hill. I don't normally write bad reviews, but with the cost of the menu items going up, I feel it's necessary. I have ordered the prime rib several times and its been consistently good, but not last time. I order it medium rare. It was in fact pink in the middle, but extremely dry inside and outside. I sent it back with the waitress, the manager brought it back to the table and said the cook said it was in fact cooked medium rare because it was pink in the middle. Well, I didn't want to waste food, especially meat, and I didn't want to argue with her, so I just tried to eat the parts that were kinda tender. It was dry, chewy and bland, even the au gus sauce was tasteless.. The dish used to come with seasonal fresh vegetables, well I got canned carrots and corn, blah! With all the price increases, you should at least, get what you pay for. The manager never came back to check how it was after I started eating it, she was too busy talking with some guy at the bar, but our waitress was sympathetic. The burger my son ordered and the Ruben my husband ordered were very good. The picture I'm posting is after I cut it up for my dog.

Clean and casual atmosphere. Let’s talk about the food. I could sum it up by saying “BEST Bar food ever”, but let me give you the delectable details of this food adventure. Two mouths shared 1 Giant Rueben and order of poutine and an order of fried mushrooms. We ate ourselves into a food coma and still had a full carry out box to bring home. Highlighting: The corned beef is homemade and it is absolutely tender and delish. No fat! Then, the poutine was a platter. We ate the whole dang thing. :) Now… the full basket of fried mushrooms was hands down, the best fried mushrooms we have ever had - even homemade. The outside was crispy. The sauce was perfect. The mushrooms were super juicy. Our waitress Emily was patient, helpful, sweet and attentive. This was a fun night and definitely worth every bite. We will be back, often! (PS I never got a picture of the full basket of mushrooms because we had them half eaten when I started snapping pics.)
