Bagpiper's Pub — Restaurant in Allentown

Nice pub with a large selection of beer and mixed drinks. Good, friendly service. We liked the open to the outdoors dining room. Perfect for a late summer evening. The food was okay except for the overuse of dill. We thought this was plain weird. We order the soft pretzel app and it came with a beer mustard dip with loads of dill. It didn't work. The potato pancake app also came with a dill flavored dipping sauce. The worst thing was when the fish and chips dish was served with a sprinkle of dill on the fries. Yuck! I don't care for dill at all. I figured I'd kill the taste by dipping the fries in the tartar sauce. Surprise! More dill. I'm not talking about a dash, this is a copious amount of dill. I packed up most of my fish and chips and gave it to a coworker for lunch. He's Scottish and thought it was a strange choice. I'd go again but ask for no dill...

Four of us went there Saturday Oct 4th around 4ish. Got there and really not busy, walked in and seated ourselves. There was no sign saying otherwise. Waited about 6-7 minutes and nobody acknowledged us being there. Wife went to bar to get menus and the bartender told her you have to order all drinks and food at the bar. No waitress service. Thought about it for a second and we left. No comment on food or drinks because we never got any. If I could give a negative review on customer service they would get it. The amazing staff is always friendly and courteous (they even have security there to keep an eye on everything even though I haven’t seen them have to do anything besides card people)! The food is outstanding with a menu that has something for everyone and none of it ever disappoints! There is a great range of age groups from college kids all the way up to retired married couples enjoying a nice night out with a great dinner and drinks! Sports on the tvs, music playing, and genuinely happy patrons and workers! This is a place that is a must go to!
