Loan's Authentic Vietnamese Bistro — Restaurant in Allentown

I have been coming here for years. I have eaten a lot of pho, but this is the best in the area. It is run by a husband and wife who put incredible care and love into what they do. They source the meat and vegetables from the farmers market and the food is very fresh and tasty. The broth for pho, whether for beef or chicken, is the base upon which it is built, and here it is aromatic, flavorful, and well seasoned. They bring you basil, bean sprouts, sliced jalapeno, and lime to squeeze into the soup at the table. Pho is a meal unto itself, but I would also recommend the summer rolls, which are shrimp and pork with lettuce inside a rice wrapper. That comes with a dipping sauce. This place is seriously amazing!! It’s definitely a hidden gem but a must try when you go to the Allentown farmer’s market! There was a large line, and not much seating, when we first passed by so decided to wait a little while and come back, luckily the crowd had dispersed and we ordered right away. The beef pho was incredible! It was my first time ordering pho and I came here specifically for it and was so impressed. Our friend that was with us also loved his pho, and ordered egg rolls that we all shared that were delicious! Seriously...

Rating just the chicken pho here: Really good pho. I suggest asking for their chili oil instead of sriracha if they don’t offer it. The chili oil has great flavor depth as well but it will kill you if you use too much. My only gripe is they don’t use a traditional pho soup bowl so it seems you don’t get the full amount of broth.
