Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Allentown

I bought a gift card to put in my daughter's birthday card. When she tried to use it she was told the card was bad because it was never activated. They were rude. I called them and told them I had my credit card receipt. Again the employee was rude but finally agreed to have the manager call me. I never received a call. I called back 2 days later and the same girl said the manager was on maternity leave. I asked to talk to the owner and she said he was on vacation. When I stated that some one had to make this right she was rude, said she couldn't help me and hung up on me. As far as I'm concerned...

This parking lot is a death trap. Almost got hit by the car behind me pulling in, then the lot is full, cars aren't in spaces correctly, and people and kids are all over the place. Making it even better, they have a food truck in the lot blocking visibility to Tilghman St. So pulling in and out is even more challanging. Anyhow, Rita's was great. The food truck is probably great too. This just seems like the worst place for it given the already limited space in a popular destination. I went to this Rita’s on Tilghman Street tonight. The parking lot is littered with empty cups and spoons and dropped ice cream cone and cups with uneaten ice and custard. The counters at each window were filthy. There was drips from products and dirt. The napkin holders were empty. It took a long time to get a cup of water and a small twist in a cup. The custard was good, creamy, but the chocolate didn’t have a great, rich chocolate flavor. I’d urge the manager to get the place cleaned up. If the outside is filthy, I would guess that the...
