Not bad.. not great. To start off the service was outstanding. Everyone was kind and helpful. The restaurant was very clean, well laid out, and nicely decorated. As far as the food goes, I wasn't sure how to process it. Reading the menu and pricing, it appears they are going for a upscale burger joint vibe. Seem to be using "fancier" ingredients in some of their offerings, and charging premium prices. The execution is where it goes wrong. Wife and I both order our burgers cooked medium (warm pink center), they both came out very much well done to the point the burger wasn't even juicy inside let alone pink. We started with the sausage n mac bites. These had amazing flavor but for $8 we expected more than the 5 quarter sized bites. My burger choice was the Charred Tomato Cheddar Steak Burger and upgraded side to the Rosemary Sea Salt Truffle Tots. This burger would have been amazing if the patty was cooked properly and even though it wasn't it was still pretty good. Had a really good mix of flavors. Texture would have been nice too if it hadn't been for the over cooked patty once again. They were actually out of tots so they brought me out truffle fries instead as a side. These, to me, were just fries with some rosemary sprinkled on top, nothing more. My wife had the purple raider steak burger and it was just OK, may have been better if it wasn't way overcooked as well. Kids had the chicken tenders and hot dog, both were good, especially for a kids meal. Kids meal's come with an ice-cream cookie or sundae for desert, our kids opted for the sundae, it looked good and they seemed to enjoy.
After our first visit now, I can say we will most likely give it another try some day. Maybe they had a new cook, maybe they are still working out the kinks. We were hoping to finally have a great burger joint close by but after our first visit we are skeptical. I believe they missed the mark. Hard to tell if it's a sports bar with decent food or an upscale burger joint that needs a better trained chef.
For $72 our bill included: 2 adult sodas 2 kids drinks 1 order of Sausage n Mac bites 1 kids chicken tender meal 1 kids hot dog meal 1 Charred Tomato Cheddar Steak Burger -side upgraded to Rosemary sea salt truffle fries 1 Purple Raider Steak Burger -side upgraded to sweet potato fries 20% tip
In my opinion the pricing is way out of line...
Read moreThis place has alot going for it. The service was exceptional, honestly too much so. I had a long day at work, and wanted to chill with a beer at my booth. My waiter was very quick and overly chatty. I believe I was also visited by either the owner or manager. It is a very nice gesture, but I wasn't really into it. I'm out of town looking for food and to unwind. If your feeling friendly and social, you couldn't really ask for more.
The food was GOOD.... shy of great, shy of exceptional and memorable.
I am a burger fanatic, and always try a house special, there was nothing on the menu that looked appealing. I ended up making my own burger which I never do.
My overly zealous waiter got me excited talking about appetizers and my starving self agreed to loaded tots. My meal also came with tots. I also got 2 beers. I will have tots in my hotel until I leave. Not necessarily bad, they are pretty good.
If I lived nearby, I would love to have this as a reliable, can count on restraunt for a decent burger. The WORST problem with this establishment is the price. I outlined my order in the last paragraph, with tip, I paid $50 for myself. My two beers were actually cheap, only $7 of the $43 (- tip) for a tot appetizer and custom burger.
The food is good but, not this good. At home I could hit a chili's with a date for $60 together with drinks, maybe $70. That's about where I'd put the establishment, except with much friendlier and more focused service.
Except, they seem to really hammer on service and friendliness, but I'm actually at another restraunt right now and have been asked if I was OK once, and immediately left alone after. This was not my experience at Atown.
If the food was cheaper and I lived here, I'd hit this place all the time. My food came out QUICK, and it was awesome. If you have no qualm talking to your waiter or paying an extra couple bucks and want a reliably delicious burger, this is the...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant for the first time this evening, and I already can't wait to go back! The restaurant was very cozy and clean, the music wasn't overbearing, and it reminded me of an old school diner or a pizzeria. Upon entry, we were promptly greeted and led to our table. The waitress was kind, friendly, informative, and quick! She didn't let my drink get below half empty, and was on top of asking if we needed another beer. We opted for the Buckeye Pretzel Bites (cute by the way!) with the beer cheese. The beer cheese was AMAZING! You could taste the ale, it was very thick and had great flavor. Next, I opted for the pizza burger, which was phenomenal. The burger had hints of garlic, the tomato sauce was almost sweet, and it was cooked perfectly. You can tell the beef used is of high quality in comparison to other burger joints such as Red Robin, etc. I loved the fresh cut fries, and thought they were a nice touch above similar restaurants. The portion sizes were also great, as we definitely did not leave hungry! To top off the evening, the owner, Frank, came out and introduced himself, talked about the restaurant, and took our feedback. Overall, this was a great place to visit without having to drive all the way to Beldon! I'm already excited to try the Chicken Parmesan sandwich and onion rings the next...
