Read moreBasic flavors. EXTENSIVE wait times. Was made to pull around the back of building last night, so they could "pack" a quart of ice cream. I waited close to 25 MINUTES!!! I HAD TO CALL IN TO GET IT BROUGHT TO MY CAR!!! ice cream. That's all they do is ice cream. Also, save some bucks using the 3 worker bee staff members. CONSISTENTLY 3-5 STAFF huddled by the register, peering over the cashier, laughing and smiling. NOT WORKING!!! Line is out to Beechwood. People inside waiting. And 3-5 staff just having a ball talking, laughing. How many teens does it take to bring down business??? All but the 3 worker bees hired here. Looks like they try to staff sufficiently with like 7-8 staff, however, there is no one there to run the circus. I won't go back. 25 minutes for 1 quart of ice cream, "because it was hard to scoop " Put one of the several idle males working on their punchlines in the corner on it for arm power.REALLY??????? Think about the money in profit this place could make if they all could do their part, work a little bit as a team, and get the cars through smoothly. Always a 30-40 minute wait. This was the second bad experience in 2 days. Also, get a better point system. 1 point per 1 dollar. 350 bucks for the sweatshirt. Folks, it is 30 bucks cash inside the store. Another big REALLY? This may be harsh, but needs...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal fan of Almost Heaven Ice Cream for years. Their ice cream is truly great, and I used to feel like I was getting good value for my money. But lately, the prices have skyrocketed while portions have shrunk, and it’s making me think twice about coming back.
On my last visit, I got two quarts of ice cream, and it was $25. That’s just too high, even with today’s rising costs. If you get a cone or a bowl, the portion sizes have also noticeably dropped. It used to feel generous—now, not so much.
Then there’s the rewards program, which used to be a nice perk but is now completely pointless. You have to spend $150 just to get a $5 coupon, and it expires in six months, so there’s no chance to save up for anything meaningful. It feels like a reward system designed to make sure nobody actually gets rewarded.
If you look back at old reviews, you’ll see larger portions, happier customers, and an owner who built something special. Now, the recent reviews tell a different story—and the owner never responds.
I get that everything has gone up in price, but at some point, a business has to stay competitive and reasonable. The ice cream itself is still excellent, which is why I’m giving three stars—but at these prices, it’ll have to be a very special occasion...
