Doug's Take 5 Restaurant at Four Seasons — Restaurant in Allouez

First time here. I'll start with the food because it was pretty good. Perch was good (though served without the onion mentioned in the menu), good cole slaw and fries. Shrimp was also good. Salad was meh; menu said "spring mix" but it was just iceberg lettuce. I recommend the perch & shrimp.

Service was horrible, absolutely horrible. Ordered food at 6:20pm, including three soups that she offered to bring out first. At 6:55pm I asked if we could have our soups yet; she said "coming right up." She delivered the soups at 7:20pm. Our four main dishes were delivered one plate at a time between 7:36pm and 7:41pm.

This has to have been the waitress' first shift ever. She didn't know what kinds of beer they have or what kinds of salad dressing they have. She was creative though, by asking "what kind do you want and I'll see if we have it." She never visited the table after brining the food; didn't check to see how things were; didn't offer to refill our water. Then we had to wait for her to bring the check, which we got at 8:05pm.

I’ll talk about the positives first. I came here with my partner tonight cause the other place we wanted to try was totally packed. Don’t let the small amount of reviews fool you. This place was awesome. We came in and Doug made us feel like apart of the family. He was so kind and had a wonderful demeanor. His service was just out of the park amazing. I’ve never had someone at a restaurant make us feel so at home. I was worried that with the great service the food might not match but the food was delicious. We’re pretty picky about food, my partner especially and he ate every last drop. The homemade chili and cheeseburger were amazing. The cheese curds weren’t greasy and that made me really happy! The only downside id say is purely aesthetic based. Main thing is there’s no open sign so right when we got there I wasn’t sure if they were open or not cause the front door area inside is dimly lit. Visited for dinner while traveling. The food was priced right and good. Their burger buns had a unique, good texture which I wasn't expecting. The beer selection had a few unique options for someone from out of town (e.g., Badger State) which was very welcome. Most critically, I recommend you come here if you want a unique experience. Only once at a restaurant where I became a regular have I found the level of hospitality which Doug brings. It is a deeply personalized dining experience and I recommend you check it out.
