One of several excellent casual, sit-down Mexican restaurants in Green Bay. We decided to have lunch here because my dining partner is strongly adverse to spicy heat levels no matter what the cuisine. He told me the default heat level at Los Magueyes is mild, although you can request spicier if that is your preference. We were seated immediately, were served chips with two types of salsa. Our orders were taken after we finished reading the sizeable menu.. The restaurant was full of folks taking their lunch break from the office. We both had enchilada plates and a cocktail. The strawberry frozen margarita was excellent. The food arrived quickly and was well presented. Very tasty, and as expected, the spice level was mild. Portions were large but not overwhelming. The restaurant appears to be experiencing the same labor shortage every other location in Green Bay it seems to have at the moment. The sole waiter / bartender handled the entire crowd by himself, yet was very attentive to our and other guests' requests. Overall our lunch was very pleasant, as enjoying good food with a good friend should be However, I felt sorry for the poor guy handling an entire lunch crowd all by himself (and tipped him generously because he really...
Read moreWe went there Sunday with another family and we both brought our kids. The sign outside says "kids each free" and it has said that forever. Once were all sitting and eating salsa the waitress says "Just so you know the kids eat free does not apply today". We stated that the reason we came in today was because your sign says they do. Not only were there 4 adults but our 2 oldest kids were also going to be getting adult meals. We asked to speak to the owner. He came out and said he would say okay to the kids eat free but that we would have to pay full price for our drinks (that we already had) to make up for it. They had a drink deal for Cinco De Mayo. In order to not make a stink we said okay but why should we be the only ones to pay full price for the drinks to get the kids free meals that YOU are advertising for? Very Shady and makes me wonder how many other people with kids have gone there based on your sign and "suddenly" then been told no after being seated. Food was...
Read moreFour of us celebrated my nephews 60th birthday here today and I must say it was a good decision. We were greeted with a warm welcoming smile and seated immediately. The place is decorated authentically and in good taste. Our chips were served warm with fresh pico di Gallo and a refried bean dip. Our main course was served fairly quickly. The portion size of our meals was just right for lunch and everyone enjoyed their meals. The price point was reasonable as well. The best part of our experience was when the staff came out with a big sombrero for our birthday boy, a Mariachi Band, and sang happy birthday with us. We also got a nice size bowl of ice cream for a tasty birthday treat. I'm also learning Duolingo Spanish and tried it out on our waiter ordering our meal. He was very accommodating with my efforts. I pretty much liked everything about this place and would recommend...
