I have been passed around for months telling my story over and over again and never having any results. Bellin Health might be good at training, nurses or running marathons, but their service sucks. I have a very good example . February 13, 2024 my husband went to his primary care physician because he had very bad swelling in his feet and legs. His provider took one look at his legs and sent him to the emergency room as she suspecting he had a life-threatening blood clot. so we get there we tell the triage nurse that he needs to be checked for blood clots he had surgery in the month before we need to make sure he’s not having blood clots Dr. Collins comes in and spends a whopping one minute and 50 seconds looking at him, does not ask any questions or allow us to ask any questions and turns and walk out of the room. Nurse comes back in and says doctor has ordered an ultrasound and an EKG. husband went up for the ultrasound and EKG and they couldn’t find anything. And what was the treatment plan of the emergency room? TAKE HIM TO HAVE a PEDICURE!! Services were done denied so I obtained the medical records, which were wrong but they don’t even know the Doctor Who saw or will admit that he works there per their directory, medical records, department, billing department, and emergency department. So I’m calling medical records, billing and general call number to try to figure out how to get this updated. all I need is a statement added to the medical records that says patient was referred to emergency room from primary care doctor for concerns of blood clots due to rotator cuff surgery. Yesterday I called the follow up, the person in grievance told me they only handle the doctor part everything else should be done through the medical records so I called the medical records and they said no it is done through the patient advocate. So I asked to speak to my patient advocate and apparently Bellin Health’s patient advocates work from home, but do not have access to a phone nor do they have access to zoom from their computer.! I tried to find a name or number to one of the hospital administrators and I could find the CEO and president so I called to speak to her. Their switchboard had no record of this person as an employee. And you ask why continue ? It is because Bellin Health has billed my primary insurance instead of the Workmen’s Comp. we have a high deductible for emergency rooms, however because this is a Workmen’s Comp. issue it should be covered 100%. Bellin Memorial Hospital is billing me $5000 for services rendered by a doctor that they do not even still admits works for them. They say he may work for Green Bay emergency medical, but they cannot confirm. Also, this provider does not have an NPI in Wisconsin, but they told me he is licensed ( How can they possibly know he is licensed if they don’t know he exists)?? I guess this is the game they play why should I be surprised???? They will continue to pass me around and have me start my story and wait 30 days for them to tell me that it is another department responsibility but they don’t know who in that department or how to contact them and give me some random voicemail hoping that I go away while they send me in my $5000 to collections. In the next few weeks, my husband will be released from his Workmen’s Comp. injury, which probably will mean that they won’t accept any additional bills anyways. they literally got nothing right in that entire visit. They did not get the reason for the visit, right, they did not get the documentation right, they did not get the billing, they did not get the diagnosis right And they did not get their service right .. I wonder if someone like Fox 11 Green Bay would like to do a human interest story on this case to shine a light on how poor service can be and how hard it can be to get in touch with somebody when they are billing you 5000. They seem to do a lot of reporting on the good that Bellin Hospital does for the community ( to help their PR) But maybe need they need to look into the...
Read moreI have never written a bad review for a hospital in my life, and I would not recommend people to go here. I was and still am, so upset with the lack of care I got. I went in for pain in my right side last night, they took me back right away which was nice. It took 45 minutes for the doctor to come in to see me and order meds and a test. My rn did her best to get me pain meds right away, and I am sure that poor girl was busy. I was still having pain an hour and a half later, and no one was checking in on me. I did hit my call light as the rn was coming in for more pain meds. I was given more pain meds shortly after, but then was not checked back on until my ultrasound tech came into the room. So from 3 to 5 am when they did my ultrasound no one came in my room. The tech put her findings in right away. At 6:30 my mom went to look for the doctor because I was falling asleep but waking up because the pain was so bad. And also, because we wanted to know the findings of my ultrasound. My mother was told sorry we are busy right now and we are still waiting for it to be reviewed. Which they were then just starting to get busy, and were not busy the whole night, because we could hear them talking. We overheard that my doctor had left at 6 and had to be called back in to deal with me and her other pt. I felt pushed out the door and that my care team didn't care about me or my well-being. My doctor said that my ua was contaminated, but wouldn't order another up for me. I was there for 7 hours and 4 1/2 was just waiting for my care team to talk to me or even check in with me. As they were discharging me they told me to follow up with my primary dr. Well, I did just that and I was told by my dr. To go back to the er, which I did. At a different er they were able to find out I had a ruptured cyst that was draining causing infection and bleeding. They gave me an iv bolus and more pain meds and were upset with the fact that I was not given iv fluids last night and sent home in pain. I was forgotten about last night and pushed out the door because my dr. Cared more about going home than she did about my well-being. There were many excuses as to why it took forever for them to check up on me. but even at the other hospital, I went to today they were busy and had no open beds, I never had to wait too long for my care team to check up on me. I understand we all have bad nights, but I will never go back here again. I rather drive 20 30 mins out of my way, than feel lIke I did last night. 7 HOURS to tell me they didn't know it was an 11mm cyst that had popped and was draining and that I had free-standing fluids in that ovary!!! If my doctor would have looked at the ultrasound like she was supposed to they would have seen it and I could have been properly cared for. But I was made to feel like a burden and that I was unwanted, uncared for, and pushed out the door. My care team was very rude and short with me even the doctor and were short with my mother and me when we...
Read moreOn 12/27/2002 I was visiting my fiance in bellins icu unit. At about 8:45 pm a female security guard show up in in our room. I thought it odd. She asked me to sign a security compliance form. She is asking for my signature ? Why ? She goes on to explain that if I didn't sigh this from I would have to leave. So understand standing that they will make me leave my finances side if I don't sign it. Under those terms I signed this form. Icu is a secured area in the hospital. How did security end up disturbing what could possibly be my last moments with my fiance? I didn't even so much as speak to anyone on staff. I spoke to security after they ended up in icu in our room. After being told to leave per agreement to comply with rules I never violated and being told then. That it is at their discretion. To do this to a dieing woman's loved ones as they lay dieing is unthinkable. They amount of stress compounded on top of a lost of a love one. This stems from a situation that happens this pass summer. I had to ask for a supervisor due to a nurse over reaction to my kissing my unconscious fiance. I asked for her supervisor because it felt like one of those Karen moments you see online. With the supervisor present a male nurse entered the room and was swearing at me. I don't respond but told how unprofessional he was being. I addressed the supervisor who did not correct the male nurse. They exited the room leaving me alone with fiance. I was there about 15 -20 minutes more. I left without any problems. After I leave the hospital I was told by staff over the phone that the family doesn't want me on the property but what they told the family was totally different. The nurse told the family I tried to tamper with her life support. Well that's not what happen. That's a crime. I was never told to enen leave. Yet alone have to be arrested for any behavior. I never took it personally. I was grieving. I did not want to bring any drama to myself. I didn't even file a complaint. I assumed the situation was over and paid the staff enough respect to not even open my mouth to say a word. Until a security guard is in my fiances room. Interrupting what few moments we have left. Over her feelings. There was no cause to remove me from my fiances side. There was no threat to staff or any patients. There was no loud disturbances of any kind. Harassment by the nursing staff is abuse of the patient also. To strip loved ones from dieing patient over her feelings which are unfounded in my opinion is overwhelming cruel to the patient the patient family and the reputation of hospital. I want to be free of harassment when...
