Shorty's BBQ — Restaurant in Alma

Im from south florida and just recently moved to Alma, and this place is top notch, the building is a little rustic type place, pretty small inside, with a smoking porch and a front door, you go inside and order and you can sit in a table, surrounded by georgia bulldog pictures, or you can get take out. I fully recommend eating inside, though, as there are not many people and you can get as many free refills and extra sauces as you want. Better for the price. The price is great, the fried pickles and fried okra are amazing, and so is the pulled pork sandwich, the burger, and probably the most popular order that I've seen, the chicken platter. We were so disappointed. Read all the great reviews so went there for dinner. The only thing I can say is that maybe their friends are doing these reviews. The rolls, french fries were good, and the coleslaw and mac n cheese were pretty decent as well. However that is where it stopped. We got two dinner plates of pulled pork and pork ribs. The pork was sliced pork (not pulled) and the country style ribs were tough. They were both bathed in a terrible BBQ sauce that was distintly tomato based. Great place to eat. Sometimes a good restaurant can have a bad day.Most of the time the food is good but there are times I'm not satisfied with the food. THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH SHORTY'S. IT IS ALWAYS GOOD!!! On average I stop by SHORTY'S 2 to 3 times a month for the last few years. I have never been disappointed with the quality or quantity of the food.
