Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Altamonte Springs

First time I have been to this place. As I entered the place was clean and neat. My daughter and I was acknowledged by the associate behind the counter and took our order. In no time she had our smoothies made and brought out to us. I had the strawberry limeade and my daughter had the peanut butter smoothie. The strawberry limeade was so good! I thought I was having an Italian ice. I tasted my daughters and the peanut butter one was really good too! For me it had the right amount of peanut butter. As we were leaving the associate acknowledged with us having a great rest of the day since we were there late in the afternoon. The menu board was easy to read and organized with descriptions of their menu items. I was able to get a paper copy of the menu, and that is also organized, pictures of some of the items and had descriptions of what the menu items consist of along with calorie intake as it also showed on the menu board. They also serve sandwiches, wraps and other food items. They also run specials on sandwiches, a side and a smoothie combination. They also have online ordering and a place that has cubbie holes for orders to be picked up. I will definitely go...

Thank you in advance for reading this. I’m disappointed in the service I received at Tropical Smoothie on SR 434. This was my first time coming to this establishment. On arrival, the 1st young lady was very kind to me. The employee walked me through the menu and helped me feel less nervous than I was concerned about. I asked if I could try a sample, and she said yes. The young lady asked her partner for a small selection for me to taste. The employee, now known as Priscilla, informed the coworker no. Priscilla approached me and said I couldn’t get a sample because they just got a big catering order and were low on the items. Wow, I was blown. What that has to do with me, I thought to myself. I decided to explain to her this was my first time here, and I didn’t want to get something unpleasant. Then Priscilla came with another excuse. Well, if my manager was here, I could give you a sample. Wow, another blow. This is the service your corporations provide. Well, you can have it. This is not a place of business I will return to. Service was slow and sullen; when I finally received the two smoothies I'd ordered and made my way to the car, I took a sip of mine (blueberry bliss) and tasted water with a hint of fruit flavor. Confused, I stirred the smoothie and tasted it again. Same, watery flavor. I looked more closely at the cup to see a layer of water floating on top. I angled my straw further down to get the actual smoothie and tasted a really bland paste. I took it back inside and while waiting for assistance I saw the person who made the smoothie packing ice chips onto already blended fruit puree to pass through the blender again. The cashier was kind enough to offer to make me another one, but I declined because the issue seemed to be with the recipe/process itself and I didn't think another one would solve the issue. Most, if not all of the smoothie places I've been to use a frozen yogurt or sorbet binder instead of ice for all of their smoothies, and this place should follow suit. My boyfriend's smoothie seemed to be fine, but mine left a literal bad taste...
