If you’re thinking about ordering from New Hong Kong in Altamonte Springs, let me save you some heartache and a few bucks. We decided to try this Chinese restaurant one evening and, honestly, it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had—thanks to DoorDash, we didn’t even have to step foot inside.
We were lured in by the mouthwatering photos on their website, but what arrived was a complete letdown. I ordered the orange chicken combo, which was supposed to come with white rice and broccoli. Instead, I received a bizarrely orange rice concoction and—wait for it—no broccoli at all! The chicken had zero flavor, and I wondered if I was just eating colored cardboard.
Then there were the fried dumplings. I hate to say it, but they were downright disgusting. They had the chewiness of a rubber band and were completely devoid of any flavor. And don’t even get me started on the shrimp rolls. They were overly greasy, and the filling was mushy and bland.
We took one look at the meal and, without taking more than a tentative bite, decided to toss it all in the trash. This was our first-ever food delivery that didn’t even make it to the table. We ended up reordering from a different place, hungry and disappointed.
At a price point of $15-$20 per person, you’d expect at least a decent meal, but New Hong Kong missed the mark entirely. Save your money and your appetite for somewhere else—trust me, you’ll...

Read moreElasia was the most incredible over the phone waitress I’ve ever had. I used to work as a server for a number of years and when I get good service I usually try to leave a review. But when it comes to this particular woman I’ve had her help me now twice. Only twice I’ve been to this location and each time this woman has helped me with such ease and poise. I can hear things clanking in the background and customers coming in, but she takes her time explaining things and doesn’t rush me. Spending $70 on a takeaway dinner is kind of a big deal for me. Not because I can’t afford it, but because it usually comes wrong and it’s a large cost for an inconvenience. Elasia, (I’m sorry if I spell it incorrectly) always goes out of her way to make sure she gets the order correctly and asks to make sure she understood it. I have questions too, which she takes her time explaining. I really like this place and hey the food happens...
