Fireside Grille — Restaurant in Altoona

We came at 6:30 and did not leave until 9:00 because our serve Jordyn did not do anything in a timely manner. Many people in our party had to ask multiple times for water and still some didn’t ever get any water. She did not write things down so she got orders wrong and my sisters side didn’t come out until she finished her main meal and her appetizer didn’t come out until the meals already came. Jordyn was rude and combative and very unprofessional when confronted about these issues. She came and said to our group wow I didn’t realize I made you guys so mad in a rude tone. The checks took 25 min to get out because she had wrong orders on almost all of them for our party of 16. And had to redo them multiple times. None of us wanted to tip because her service was so bad but because we were a large party we got automatic service charge added on and when we asked the manager behind the bar about it she told us she couldn’t remove it. Which we feel isn’t right because then Jordyn is getting a tip none of us felt she deserved. My graziano burger was not cooked all the way and was raw totally in the middle as well as some others in our party had raw burgers and had to send them back. She didn’t bring out my sister and her boyfriend’s appetizer until well after all the food came out and My sister had to ask 5 times for a take out container for her side of chili. Jordyn never apologized for any of it and was rude and disrespectful to all of us the entire time. Many people had to ask several times for water and some still never got it. Not once did Jordyn ask if we wanted refills on our drinks or refill our waters.

I also don’t appreciate how Nolan who I take is a manager is attempting to handle the situation he is trying to justify the horrible service by saying things like working in customer service can be challenging and we have all had a bad day at work. He then proceeded to send me the message from another customer who was outside the party room and didn’t get there until 730 and didn’t see the multiple instances of bad service that happened inside he party room that led to us getting so upset and their take on our situation . I found these actions by Nolan extremely unprofessional as well.

None of us will ever be back and cannot say enough to waste your times here unless you like undercooked food, no refills or water for that matter, and horrible service and have three hours to spend there for a meal because the...

We've had some really good food in the past. Cajun turkey melt was really good and Chicken ranch wrap. This last time it took over half hour and didn't have more than one thin slice of turkey on on half of 1 of 2 sandwiches we ordered! So basically tons of sauce making it sloppy with wilted lettuce and possibly some melted cheese. Husband sent his back and she said she'd take $7 off for not giving us meat in a meat sandwich! Mine was the same. What exactly took a half hour in a almost empty restaurant?! Staff was just standing together talking, as usual. Person who sat us said waitress would be right there but we never saw one. The hostess served us. Thinking the cook uses a walker and that's why it took so long. There was another table but they got their food just after we ordered. I've waited tables and bartended and I could have run the bar and restaurant myself with 10 customers. Busboy left a dirty table the entire time we were there. Just talking and watching TV from what we could see. Too pissed to take photos. If you're looking for a decent dinner for a fair price. This place is worth the trip to Altoona. When we got here there was a 30 girl soccer team there for supper. We got seated right away. Other than our first drinks taking a few but that was to be expected. The service and waitress were top tier very well done!!! Place is a little out dated but we dnt care about a few rips in the benches. Now to the food. I admit I was pretty muffed at first cuz the first couple things I ordered they were out of on a Friday but such is life. We had the appetizers sampler, onion rings, a pizza n a burger. All the food was hot n fresh. However I have to say it was not very well seasoned at all. The chicken was just battered n fried no seasoning. The fried had no seasoning and weren't crispy but they was ok. Pizza was lacking seasoning as well as the burger was too. Now with that being said we will def be back.
