Fareway Meat and Grocery — Local services in Altoona

I went into the store specifically for a wine that was featured at the craft show. Fareway stated they carried the wine and if they didn’t they could order it in and the vendor that owns the winery stated they could get it on the shelf. They didn’t have it (no biggie). Manager got my name and number and I requested a certain wine from a local brand they carry and “support” in their store. Received a voicemail today that they won’t order any more because it’s not worth it since they don’t make enough money from it. Extremely greedy that they won’t support a local business and would rather lose a customer (which in turn gives them money). Rave to wall to wall wine and spirts in West Des Moines for carrying the specific wine in the brand and ordering more so I will make the drive for good...

Went there near closing told them I just needed batteries and asked where to find them said I’d be quick, they told me where to find em I said thank you (I knew it was late and tried to be as polite as possible) and an older woman jokingly yelled “it’s in ISLE 10” before turning and whispering with a few other workers, on my way to pay they were all stopped giggling and were giving me weird stares except for one person there named (Zack or Zach), I don’t know who they are but they were the only person there who wasn’t giving me stares and being visibly rude. I made it out before they closed. I feel like there was no need for that considering my friend who walked in later didn’t get any stares or looks...

I'm a caregiver and the lady I help wanted to stop at this store.. she can't walk so we used their handicaped motor chairs to shop. We went to checkout and I turn around and there are 2 employees 1 manger blocking the door. He said you can't take this outside. I explained she can't walk so... He replied by pointing to a sign and telling me to pull right up to the door. Plans to have all 3 of them walk with us. I told them I didn't need their help and so he had only one stand by and make sure we didn't take off with their chair. We felt embarrassed and honestly a little desriminated against.
