Really looked forward to trying this place on my second trip through Altoona. The beers we had were tasty, the gyro was very good , its pita (naan) was fresh and hot and though the meat was a touch dry the sauce, cheese and fresh veggies more than made for a great sandwich. The chili Mac n cheese arrived without the chili and the cheese sauce was thin and uninspired. We didn't decide to complain about the lack of chili as the gentleman behind the bar, who was very grumpy seemed overwhelmed. He was very short and seemed annoyed at any questions we asked. Given we had never been there, they had an extensive list and a lot of beers kicked and unavailable, we wanted to get some insight as to the available beers and and suggestions, he was having none of it. Read moreStopped in to this place last night and it’s definitely a hidden gem in Altoona. Great location downtown with plenty of parking off street in front and in the parking lot out back. I had a “jacked rabbit” panini and the chili. The sandwich was interesting and tasty! I liked the fresh jalapeños they use over the pickled ones but I would add actual bacon over just bacon bits to give it a bang! (Not a bacon bits fan). The chili was VERY good and I liked the chickpeas and carrots!!!
To drink I had a Tangy guava beer and the orange flavor they had on tap!!!
So overall I felt that the menu has a simple bar feel and I want to come back to try a few things but I’ll def ask about the touches like bacon or any toppings in the future!!!
Friendly and...
