Me and a friend ate here on Thursday afternoon in February 2022, about 4:30 PM. We got here early before the supper crowd had arrived. A sign said, "sit at any clean table", so we did. A very nice girl server came over immediately with menus, napkins, & flatware, to take our drinks order. We both had iced tea, which she brought back quickly, and then took our meal order. I had chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and a garden salad. My friend had chicken fried steak and the same sides, both orders with white gravy. Our server asked if we wanted our salads before or during our meal, and what salad dressings did we want. We both took our salad before the main course, both with Ranch dressing. Our girl came back a few minutes later with the salads in medium sized bowls, and she brought a very clean and full squeeze bottle of Ranch dressing. The salads looked very fresh and were chopped up like I like. It's great to be able to put salad dressing on your own salad and as much as you want. Our meals came out about the time we were finishing our salads and were hot. My chicken was cooked perfectly, and the mash potatoes were fresh-made and covered with white gravy. There was also a big bowl of gravy to put on the chicken or dip in. My friend's chicken fried steak was huge, and he said it was fresh, tender, and delicious. Meanwhile the nice server checked on us every now and then for tea refills. The tea tasted great. Overall, this was a very pleasant experience, with good home-cooked tasting food, and...
Read moreI like this place, the food is presented well and tastes good, the place is clean, prices are fair. The dining room is decorated in interesting photos and items from the Amarillo area. BUT, I have to give this review hoping the owner will hear me and think on a solution to the noisy acoustics of the place. I imagine the owner has normalized this and has no idea of how it is for the customers. The floor is hard ceramic, the tables and chairs are bare wood, the ceiling appears to be a modern version of the retro decorative stamped panels. Walls are drywall, windows are large with plate glass. All of this creates an acoustic nightmare, especially for anyone over 50 years old who doesn't have 20 year old hearing any more. We go to visit or meet friends or family and want to have a normal conversation, not have to yell over the other patrons who are also yelling to hear each other. There are modern innovative solutions to solve acoustic problems like I'm describing. As simple as rugs, chair padding, or some drapes or fabrics would help. Or commercial sound deadeners placed discretely along the walls or corners of the ceiling. I like this place but have to avoid it too, because it's a...
Read moreOne of the most horrible experiences i have ever had. To sum my experience up briefly I was discriminated against as a vet with disabilities, embarrassed in front of family, friends, and restaurant patrons, and very vocally asked to leave immediately with my service dog bringing numerous eyes to me quickly raising my anxiety levels. I'm a military vet who suffers from mental and physical trauma including PTSD and anxiety to name a few and have a service animal who helps me cope and handle my conditions. Furthermore i was asked what my conditions were which according to the Americans With Disabilities Act is not allowed by businesses so clearly this establishment needs training on this. No signs were displayed barring service animal entry which is illegal but none the less i would've honored them without complaint as opposed to the embarrassment i experienced. We all left without issue and as a veteran I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. Especially my military service members who I proudly...
